Graduation on May 14
Fifty-four young men and women have completed thirteen years
of study in the High School department -of the Ahavath Achim Re
ligious School and will be graduated at the special service on Fri
day, May 14, at 8:15 p.m.
Max Rittenbaum, Congregation president,, and Mrs. Beryl Kop-
lin, Sisterhood president, will distribute the diplomas. Rabbi Raphael
Gold, assistant rabbi and educational director, and Gerald Cohen,
education chairman, will award the trophy prizes. Rabbi Harry
Epstein will deliver the graduation address and Cantor Schwartzman
and the Synagogue Choir will render special music.
A reception honoring the graduates will follow the service.

Of May 20 Anniversary Dinner
A group of prominent Atlantans
has joined in sponsoring the
forthcoming fortieth anniversary
celebration of the Hebrew Watch
man of Memphis and The Sou
thern Israelite.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Marcus
are serving as co-chairmen for
the dinner, scheduled to begin at
7:00 p. m. Thursday, May 20, at
the Atlanta Jewish Community
Center. Dietary laws will be ob
served.
Phil Slomowitz, Detroit, distin
guished editor of the Jewish
News, one of the nation’s largest
and finest English-Jewish week
ly newspapers, will be the prin
cipal speaker.
He will pace a program on
‘The Living Jewish Newspaper.”

Since reservations are limited
by the size of the auditorium and
the advance requirements for a
kosher meal it is urgent that res

Participants in the anniversary
dinner will have a chance to meet
some of the leading Jewish jour
nalists in Atlanta for their na
tional convention.
