By KENNY SILVEHBOARD

My name is Kenny. I am eight
years old. The column was due
and Daddy didn’t come home in
time to write it. He was out lush
ing it up. That always happens
when he has to write something
about another insurance sales-

man. He’s been on the wagon for
the last 12 weeks. But this week
that man he don’t like too much
was high for the nite. Daddy
thought he would be able to stay
sober the whole year after watch
ing that man up until last nite
His name is Mr. Midtown Perm-
agent. He finally broke a 600
series. Before last nite he couldn’t
break 500. His high game was
222. His series was 606. He didn’t
win a bet. I am glad glad glad.
Now, everyobody will see how
good he did and they won’t bet
him at all. That is the way it
should be. If he was in another
business I wouldn’t say that. 1
hope he can take a hint. More
than that, I hope he can take a
joke. Anyway, he is getting a lot
of exposure. Daddy says that is
very important in his business

He says Mr. Permagent should
stand in the middle of the ex
pressway . . .
The next high man was Mr.
Murray Gordon that knows every
thing about cameras. He ought to
take a picture of himself bowling.
He would quit at once. He had a
200-568 . . . The third high man
was Mr. Harris Silverman that
makes screws in his factory. Say,
that’s a screwy business, ain’t it?
He had something like a 212-565
thing . . .
There was lots of high games.
The most amazing (I found that
word in Mad Magazine) was the
one that Mr. Marvin Silverman
that makes furniture had. He is
not the best of bowlers. But he
sure put on a show last nite. He
had a big 221. Daddy says Mr.
Silverman was trying to beat his
wife Joan’s best single game. He
didn’t. I think he is out with
Daddy now . . .
Golly, looking at this next score.
I don’t think Dad will ever get
home. Mr. Frank Alexander that
also sells insurance and dances
for a hobby had a 224 . . . And
look at this one — Mr. Sidney
Bi rger who also has some insur
ance for sale but mostly real estate
came up with a 212 thing. I don’t
think we’ll hear from Dad this
week at all . . . Mr. Icky Oren-
stein that bootlegs whiskey (I
wonder if he is supplying Daddy)
reeled in a 213 score . . . Mr. Ed
Rigel almost pulled out his hair
(singular) before coming up with
a 201 tonic . . . Mr. Sandy Mis-
ikoff that just blew into town
picked up a few enemies in a
hurry by throwing a 216 . . .
And Mr. Doe Cohen that sells
all that good food to the restau
rants and if they don’t buy from
him they’re crazy or they have a
lot of life insurance because you
ought to see the arms on that
man heck 1 would buy from him
if the food was old and green al
ready because I like living even
if I do have to go to school and

answer questions that the teacher
already knows anyway well Mr.
Cohen had a big 205. So What? .
And look at this—My Daddy
even did good last nite. He had a
207. How about that? That’s
exactly 100 over his weight. I’ll
bet my 25 cent allowance nobody
else can bowl that much over
their weight. And that goes for
you, Mr. Permegent, and you, Mr.
Silverman, and, you, Mr. Oren-
stein, and you, Mr M. Silverman,
and oops—not you, Mr Cohen—
not with those arms you got!
That’s all for now. Bye. (Hey
Daddy, come on home now — I
told them all off didn’t I?—And
besides, Hanukah is coming real
soon.)
