Benamy’s Bulls become the
new Men’s League softball
champs when they defeated
Field’s Falcons 14-6. Captained
by Fred Benamy, the Bulls broke
open a close ball game with a 7
run outburst in the 4th inning.
Key blow was Sam Appel’s
triple. From then on it was catch
up for the hustling Field’s Fal
cons team but they couldn’t
muster the big inning.
Pitcher Larry Frank was
cought in the clutch and helped
his own cause with a tremendous
home run, for the victors.
Willie Green made some fine
catches defensively for the Fal
cons and Mort Grosswald hom-
ored in a losing effort.
At the game’s conclusion, a
watermelon cutting was held and
this helped to take defeat easier
as the watermelon was delicious.
Members of the winning team
are: Fred Benamy, Jerry Sobel-
son, Larry Frank, Sam Appel,
Bobby Ney, Lester Pazol, Don
Orkin, Dick Glass, Stanford
Firestone, Jules Cavalier, Dick
Playner, Ray Blase, Bob Levy,
Paul Muldawer.
