Young Judaea
Has New
Shaliach
The appointment of a new sha
liach (emissary) to the Southern
Region of Young Judaea was
announced rcently. As shaliach
Mr. Shaul Leilach will assume the
role of Programming Director of
Young Judaea and Camp Judaea.
A native born Israeli, the 26
year old Mr. Leilach recently
graduated from the Hebrew Uni
versity with a degree in special
education. While studying for his
degree, Mr. Leilach also served
on the staff of the B’nai B’rith
Children’s Home in Jerusalem.
The role of shaliach will bring
Mr. Leilach in contact with al
most every community in the
southeast during the next two
years. He will serve as adviser to
many regional and city conclaves,
conferences and leadership train
ing seminars.
Specially chosen for this as
signment by the Tsofim (Scouts of
Israel) he will also represent that
organization. It is the s'ster move
ment of Young Judaea in Israel.
Young Judaea and Camp Ju
daea are sponsored jointly by Ha-
dassah and the Zionist Organiza
tion of America through the
Southern Zionist Youth Commis
sion. Both parent organizations
will utilize Mr. Leilach extensive
ly as a resource person.

Psi Chapter of Delta Phi Ep
silon Sorority at the University
of Georgia proudly participated
in groundbreaking ceremonies
for a new sorority house. The
groundbreaking, held on Sunday,
Oct. 9, took place at the new
sorority house site on Lumpkin
and Brittain Streets in Athens.
Those in attendance included
not only the sorority sisters but
Dean McBee, Dean of Women of
the University; Mrs. Fay Silver-
man, National DPhiE Southeas
tern Regional Director from
Gainesville, Fla.; Mrs. Roberta
Senzer, National DPhi Ritualist;
Alan Salzman from the architec-
tual firm which has drawn up the
plans for the house, Cooper, Salz
man, and Carrie; the many pa
tronesses responsible for the
happy event; Mrs. Harry Loaf,
Mrs. Beula Joel, and Mrs. Evelyn
Abrams.
Among many alumnae from
Atlanta attending were the pres
ent alumnae president Mrs. Alan
Lease and the past presidents,
Mrs. Macy Moret, Mrs. William
Waronker and Mrs. Harris Ja
cobs.
After the groundbreaking cer
emony, a luncheon was held at
the Center for Continuing Educa
tion building.
President of Psi Chapter, Miss
Nancy Proser, gave a most en
thusiastic and warm address.
Chairman of the groundbreak
ing ceremony, Miss Haila Schoen-
feld, introduced the many guests
and officers present. She also in
formed those present that at the
Delta Phi Epsilon’s past Nation
al Convention in Detroit, Mich.,
