Chaplains Want Aid
For Soviet Jews
SAN FRANCISCO (JTA)—The
Military Chaplains Association,
comprised of 3,000 Catholic, Prot
estant and Jewish clergymen, un
animously adopted a resolution
at its 42nd annual convention
here which expressed concern
over ‘the suppression of the Jew
ish faith in the Soviet Union.”
The resolution adopted by the
500 chaplains at the convention
also urged the State Departmen
“to use its good offices to do
whatever it can to encourage re
ligious freedom there and every
where.” The resolution cited press
reports of the restriction of Jew
ish religious observance in the
Soviet Union.
Against Germany, supplemented
by Italian government assistance,
but extensive additional funds
are required, Rabbi Davidowitz
said.
The Florence Jewish commun
ity is one of the oldest in Europe,
dating from medieval times. Some
'of the books in its library go back
to the 14th century. The National
Council on Art in Jewish Life is
composed of Jewish organizations,
synagogues, museums, galleries,
artists and private collectors. Its
headquarters are at Stephen Wise
Congress House.

Houi much Life Insurance
do you need?
It would be nice if we could give you the exact answer in our
advertising, but for this we require considerable knowledge about
your financial situation, your family responsibilities and your
present assets.
However, we do have a formula which enables you to list most
of your important financial needs. These guidelines for life insurance
are expressed in terms of a total dollar amount in some cases; in a
percentage of annual income in others.
Our Formula looks like this: 1 M Vi Vi Vi•
1 1 year's income—the amount your family will need to
cover Estate Clean-Up costs.
M The mortgage remaining on your house.
Vi Vi your annual salary for your wife until the children
are out of school.
Va Vi of your present salary to your wife after the children
are educated.
l/j t/j of your average annual earnings as a retirement
income for yourself.
Now you have on paper the basis of a truly sound plan for financial
security for you and your family. The next step is to guarantee this
security with life insurance. The Man from Manufacturers can show
you how much you need.
