cancer surgeon, from Beverly
Hills, Calif., visited his sister, Mrs.
Isadore Heiman, Sunday, April
16, enroute to a speaking engage
ment in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Dr. Cutler has been honored by
having been asked to be a prin
cipal speaker at the American
Medical Association’s Annual
Meeting in Atlantic City this
coming June.

a fall in Miami Beach, is recu
perating there at St. Francis Hos
pital.

Mrs. Ben Goldgar of Macon left
last week for a five-week tour of
Israel and Europe. After two
weeks in Israel, she will visit
Rome, Florence, Venice and Paris
winding up in London where she
will be the guest of her children,
Dr. and Mrs. Bertrand Goldgar,
and grandchildren Ben and Anne.
Dr. Goldgar and his family have
been spending the last year in
London where he is on a research
sabbatical from Lawrence Uni
versity, Appleton, Wis.

Chautauqua Lectures
The Jewish Chautauqua Society
announced that two lectures on
campus were given in April.
Rabbi Benjamin Rosayn of
Temple Emanuel, Dothan, Ala.,
spoke on “Appreciating Your
Happy Heritage’’ on April 18 at
Columbus (Ga.) College.
Rabbi Harold L. Rubens of
Temple Beth El, Knoxville, spoke
at Maryville (Tenn.) College on
April 19.

Honor Our UN
Correspondent
IZMIR, Turkey WUP) — The
Turkish Press Association of this
city, representing reporters of all
the leading Turkish dailies and
agencies, paid special tribute to
The Southern Israelite’s UN cor
respondent, David Horowitz, at a
reception given in his honor Mon
day evening, April 17, at the local
press club. The Association of
ficers presented Mr. Horowitz
with a certificate making him an
honorary member of the Associa
tion.
Following the reception, a press
conference was held at which Mr.
Horowitz answered questions re
lating to the basic issues facing
the United Nations. Among these
were Vietnam, Cyprus, and the
Middle East.
During his week’s visit to Ti/r-
key, Mr. Horowitz was the guest
of the Government.
In Ankara, the capital of Tur
key, Mr. Horowitz was feted at a
special dinner given by the heads
of the Ministry of Information
and Press. Mr. Ben Yitzchak
Yaakov, the Israeli Charge d’Af-
fairs, was among the invited
guests.
Marsha Katz, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. David Katz of Atlanta,
was recently initiated into Phi
Sigma Sigma, social sorority at
the University of Miami, where
she is a freshman. Marsha
is a little sister to Tau Kappa
Epsilon fraternity and is histor
ian of the sorority.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold H. Kus-
nitz of Rome announce the birth
of a son, Jonathan Mark, on
April 6. Rabbi Mark N. Gold
man performed the Briss. An
Oneg Shabbat was given at Rod-
eph Sholom Synagogue. The pa
ternal grandparents are Mrs.
Dora S. Kusnitz and the late Dr.
Morris Kusnitz of Alamo. The
maternal grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Aron Prater of Atlanta.
Mrs. Kusnitz is the former . Cee
Cee Greenfeld of Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Altmann
of Atlanta announce the birth of
a son, Steven David, on April 7.
Rev. Max Kleinmann performed
the Briss on April 14.
