NEW YORK (JTA)—Study of
the Bible and a knowledge of
archeology have been of vast help
to Israeli military leaders who
commanded war campa igns
against the Arabs in the last 20
years, according to Dr. Nelson
Glueck, president of the Hebrew
Union College-Jewish Institute
of Religion. A noted archeologist
himself, Dr. Glueck made that
observation here after returning
from his latest trip to Israel.
He pointed out that both Gen.
Yigael Yadin, commander of the
Israeli forces during the war of
liberation in 1948-49, and Gen.
Moshe Dayan, the present Mini

their expertise as archeologists
and as students of the Bible.

EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH SAFER IT IS NOT TO SMOKE .
0 We've already done something about it.
• We reduced insurance rates for people who don't smoke, You'll live a longer, healthier
life. Other studies strongly support these reports. To us, that means if you don't smoke, you're
a better insurance risk.
0 So it only makes sense that we should offer you a lower rate. And not only on your
life insurance. On your new disability income insurance, too.
• If you haven't smoked a cigarette in at least a year, then you may be eligible for lower
rates. And that goes even if you smoke a pipe or cigars.
0 With all the talk about cigarettes and health, you might think somebody should have come
up with this idea a long time ago.
0 We did, three years ago.
0 And now that it looks like other life insurance companies are going to follow our lead,
we'll just have to think of something else to stay ahead. (After all, that's how we got to be
in the top 2% of all life insurance companies).
