The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Halpert
of Miami. The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Franklin Jr. of Savannah.

Halpert, brother of the bride,
and Tim Brown, both of Mi

After a reception at King’s
Bay Yacht and Country Club,
the couple left for a wedding
trip. They will live in Miami.

BIRMINGHAM—Mr. and Mrs.
David Shapiro of Birmingham
announce the engagement of
their daughter, Myra Michelle,
to Stuart Dobbs. He is the son
of Mrs. Norman Dobbs of Sa
vannah and the late Mr. Dobbs.
The wedding is planned for
September 2 in Temple-Beth-El
in Birmingham.
The bride-elect attends the
University of Georgia, where
she is on the dean’s list. She
is a member of Sigma Delta
Tau social sorority and Alpha
Epsilon Delta pre-med fratern
ity. She plans to enter the
Medical College of Georgia in
Augusta this fall.
She is the granddaughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron
Shapiro, and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Bernstein.

lege of Georgia in Augusta.
He is the grandson of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Dobbs,
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Max
Tenenbaum.

Junior bridesmaids were Miss
Sherri Berinhout of Jackson
ville and Miss Susan Binder of
Atlanta, both cousins of the
bride. Miss Staci Taffel of At
lanta, cousin of the bride, was
flower girl.
Best man was Steven Glatzer,
brother of the bridegroom.
Usher-groomsmen were Mark
Bernhardt, brother of the bride;
Stephen Gordon of Chattanoo
ga, Alex Limor of Nashville;
Jay O’Meara; Richard Scheuer
and Milton Epstein, all of At
lanta, Master Kevin Kay, cousin
of the bride, was ringbearer.
A reception followed the cer
emony at the synagogue. Miss
Regina Abrams, Miss Janet As-
tor, Miss Ann Levin, Miss Linda
Rothschild and Mrs. John Sharp
assisted in serving. Miss Gail
Taffel, cousin of the bride, kept
the bride’s book.
After a wedding trip, Mr.
and Mrs. Glatzer will live in
Atlanta

Crimm-Koltun
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Stein of
Columbus, Ga., announce the
engagement and approaching
marriage of their daughter,
Harriet Claire, to Dr. Norman
Joseph Dershewitz of Houston.
He is the son of Dr. and Mrs.
Irving Dershewitz of Jersey
City, N.J.
The bride-elect was graduated
from Columbus High School
and received a bachelors degree
in social work from the Uni
versity of Georgia.
The bridegroom-elect received
a bachelors degree from Rut
gers University, New Bruns
wick, N. J.„ and his MD degree
from Georgetown University in
Washington in 1968. He served
two years in the U.S. Army and
was stationed at Fort Benning.
He is now completing his resi
dency in Neurology at Baylor
University Hospital.
The wedding will take place
Sunday, Sept. 3, at Shearith
Israel Synagogue in Columbus.
The engagement of Nina Jo
anne Crimm, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben G.
Crimm of Atanta, to Lawrence
William Koltun, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Allen B. Koltun of New
Orleans, is announced by the
bride-elect’s aunt, Rosalene
Crimm.
Miss Crimm is scheduled to
receive a BA degree in political
science and a secondary teach
ing certificate in December from
Washington University.
Mr. Koltun received a BA
degree in economics from Wash
ington University, where he
was elected to Phi Beta Kappa
and was graduated magna cum
laude. He will attend law school
at Northwestern University.
A December 22 wedding is
planned at the Temple.
Kaplan-Delman
Betty Marian Kaplan, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kap
lan of Atlanta, became the
bride of Michael Scott Delman
on Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Ahav-
ath Achim Synagogue. Rabbi
David H. Auerbach officiated.
The bridegroom’s parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Delman.
The bride was attended by
her cousin, Miss Barbara Banks.
Harry Delman was his son’s
best man.
A dinner at the Switzerland
House followed the ceremony.
Following a wedding trip to
Daytona and Orlando, Florida,
the couple will live in Atlan
