tion attended a Leadership Train
ing Institute on September 13-15
at Camp Barney Medintz. The in
tensive program emphasized group
dynamics, leadership skills, ad
ministrative processes and in
terpersonal relations.
Dr. Leon Spotts of the Atlanta
Bureau of Jewish Education dis
cussed the wide variety of
resources available through the
Bureau and how BBYO can use
them.
Dr. Ira Sheier, BBYO director,
said, “with our 950 BBYO
members, it is most important that
the Youth leadership hold such in
stitutes. The leaders are then able
to mobilize their fellow members
into meaningful programs in the
areas of personal growth, Judaism
and social action.
Young people in grades eight
through 12 can participate by
applying for membership before
the October I deadline at the
BBYO office in the Atlanta Jewish
Community Center or by calling
