Ben Zion AZA
The Ice Capades Chalet at
Colony Square was the scene,
<jMarch 26, of "Havdalah on Ice,”
a unique program led by Ben
Zion AZA. About 136 BBYO’ers
from ten other chapters par
ticipated in a Havadalah service
on the rink followed by two
hours of general skating.
Haganah AZA
Five members of Haganah
AZA took part in Swim-a-thon
at the AJCC pool from 4 to 9
p.m. April 17. Amounts were
pledged by sponsors for each lap
the participants swam, with
about |600 pledged. The five
swimmers were: Leon Egozi,
Alan Solomon, Mitch Wender,
David Benator, and David
Falkenstein.

Region BBYO Elects Officers
Conventioners at the recent
Southern Region BBYO Conven
tion have elected as regional
presidents, Andrew Troop of
Atlanta and Amy Gellins of
Savannah.
Andrew, son of Lillian and
Joseph Troop, is a junior at
Riverhood High School in Atlan
ta. A past vice president of Ben
Zion AZA in Atlanta and past
secretary/treasurer of the
Southern Region, Andrew is
currently Atlanta Council com
munity projects chairman.
Amy, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Gellins, is a junior
at Savannah High School. Past
president of Janet M. Clark BBG
in Savannah, she has also served
as Southern Region secretary/
treasurer.
Other Southern Region of
ficers elected are: Barbara
Arogeti of Atlanta, Mazkirah,
and Michael Bono of Savannah,
Mazkir.

BBYO Convention
BBYO’s annual Atlanta Coun
cil Convention at Camp Barney
Medintz will take place April 29-
May 1 with the convention
theme “Day of the Awakening.”
The theme centers on awareness
of and involvement in issues of
today.
The convention will include a
session on the Holocaust,
presented by Mrs. Helen Spiegel
and Dr. Jack Boozer of Emory
University.
A dramatic production,
“Terrorism: Should we
negotiate,” written and produc
ed by the youth participants,
will follow the session.
