Hadassah slates Macon confaranca
The Southeastern Region of
Hadassah will hold its annual
conference May 15-17, at the
Macon Hilton Hotel in Macon.
The theme for the conference,
which includes chapters from
Georgia, South Carolina, and
portions of North Carolina and
northern Florida, will be “The
Dawn and the Dusk — The
Challenge and the Test . .
A presentation entitled “Ani
Tzioni” in honor of Yom
Yerushalyim, the 10th anniver
sary of the reunification of
Jerusalem will be given at the
banquet on Sunday, May 15.
Mrs. Samuel Zales, national
advisor for the conference, will
speak on Jewish communities in
Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. Mrs.
Zales, national chairman of
Hadassah Israel Education Ser
vices, recently returned from
discussing social services and
health programs with citizens in
those countries.

stallation luncheon at 10D0 a.m.
Tuesday, May 3, at Shearith
Israel Synagogue.
An original musical, “18 Years
of Chapter Presidents,” will be
featured.

Regional BBW gathering set
The Southeast Regional B’nai
B’rith Women’s Conference will
take place May 15-17 at Colony
Square Hotel in Atlanta.
Programming will include
Workshops on adolescent pre
judice, child abuse, and assertive
behavior. Noted authorities on
each subject will conduct the
workshops.
Outstanding Service Awards
will be presented at a cocktail
party and dinner featuring as
keynote speaker, Evie
Wasserstrom, international
BBW president-elect.

Savannah news
A presidium of three vice
presidents; Harvey Rosengart,
Stanley Friedman, and Linda
Tillinger, were elected to lead
Agudath Achim Synagogue at
its semi-annual meeting on
March 20.
Others elected to fill posts un
til October include: Linda Cohen,
recording and corresponding
secretary; and Ila Belle
Longwater, treasurer.

ed at the final luncheon of the
year at 12 noon Wednesday, May
11 in the Synagogue Social Hall.

will convene
in Charleston
The 18th Annual Southern
Branch Conference of Women’s
League for Conservative
Judaism will be held May 1-3 in
Columbia, S.C., hosted by Beth
Shalom Sisterhood.
The theme for this year’s con
ference is “Be strong and very
courageous.”
Mrs. Bernard (Eve)
Wechsberg of Los Angeles, wife
of Rabbi Emeritus Wechsberg of
Congregation Ner Tamid,
Rancho Palos Verdes, will be the
