"Extremities" will convey message
of Holocaust for Jews at AJCC
The Florida Studio Theatre
will present the production, "Ex
tremities,” on Tuesday, May 3,
at 8:00 p.m. at the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center. This
performance, recommended for
mature audiences, is an original
work by The Sarasota-based
developmental theatre company,
and concerns the reasons for our
human need to survive.
Set in a concentration camp,
three actors portray characters
trapped in conditions of pain and
privation.
But, in the end, each refuses to
be totally destroyed, heroically
preserving individuality and
meaning.
Karen Grant, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel S. Grant of
Atlanta, a member of Florida
Studio Theatre, helped create
“Extremities” and acts in the
production.
The ensemble explored pos
sible responses to situations
of isolation and suffering.
Throughout the creative process
they asked of themselves, “Why
do people survive? In conditions
where death is inevitable, even
desirable, why do some people
resist destruction?”
The “Extremeties” will be
presented free of charge to the
