Brenda Paulen, daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. Jay 8. Paulen of
Atlanta, win attend the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem where
she willl be a participant of the
Junior Year Abroad Program. A
6 re-med major at Emory
diversity, Brenda w*f recently
elected to Alpha Upsilon
honorary scholastic society.
She has made two previous trips
to Israel, the last in 1975 as a
participant in the High School
Foreign Exchange Program
sponsored by the World Zionist
Organisation.

Jules Stine, Atlanta
businessman, has announced his
candidacy for Post 16, City
Council, At Large, in the Oc
tober 4 election.
Jules Stine has lived in Atlan
ta all but the first seven months
of his life. He attended Atlanta
Public Schools and was
graduated with a bachelor of
science in chemistry from the
University of Georgia.

president of Better Infant Births
(BIB), the public health educa
tion arm of the Metropolitan
Atlanta Chapter March of
Dimes. Heading the organisa
tion for the second year, Mrs.
Solomon first became involved
in BIB, which is a coalition of the
established women’s organiza

Jerome A. Fleischer, Ph.D., of
Baltimore, Md., has completed a
two-year poet-doctoral training
program in clinical psychology
at the Menninger Foundation.
Dr. Fleischer, who received his
Ph.D. from the University of
Tennessee, will assume the posi
tion of staff psychologist at the
C. F. Menninger Memorial
Hospital in Topeka. His wife is
the former Judy Isenberg of
Atlanta, daughter of Regina and
Sam Isenberg.

Joe Stock of Rome, Ga., has
been awarded the 1977
LaFayette Chamber of'
Commerce Distinguished Ser
vice Award. Cited for his work
with the annual Boy Scout swim
meet and bis position as Easter
Seal chairman, Stock was also
named to the Rome-Floyd Hall
of Fame in February.

Rothschlld-TIrosh
Miss Hava Tirosh, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tirosh of
Kibbutz Afikim, Israel, became
the bride of William Lee
Rothschild, formerly of Atlanta,
on July 26, at Hebrew Union
College in Jerusalem. Rabbi
Henry Skirball of Jerusalem and
Rabbi Richard Hirsch officiated.
Mr. Rothschild is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. David Blumberg of
Arlington, Va., and the late Rab
bi Jacob Rothschild, long-time
spiritual leader of the Temple in
Atlanta.
The bride, who holds a B.A.
degree in religious studies from
the University of New York at
Stony Brook, is a doctoral can
didate in medieval Jewish
philosophy at Hebrew Universi
ty. She also teaches Hebrew at
the ulpan at Hebrew Union
College in Jerusalem.
Mr. Rothschild is a rabbinic
student at the Hebrew Union
College, spending his initial year
in Jerusalem. He is a 1970
graduate of Yale, with a B.A. in
economics, and a 1974 graduate
of Harvard Law School.
The couple will return to the
United States in mid-August,
visiting Atlanta before moving
to Cincinnati where the
bridegroom will continue his
rabbinic studies at Hebrew
Union College.
