Synagogue opens disco
GENEVA, (JTA) _ The base
ment in the new and luxurious
Hechal-hanes (Palace of Miracle)
Synagogue here has been
transformed into a lively dis
comfortable arm chain anfthe ■'
latest dance records. There b
even a bar providing soft drinks
and snacks.
The Jewbh community de
cided to utilise the synagogue fa
cilities which, except for the
holidays, was not used. The feel
ing was that by opening a dis
cotheque which would also func
tion aa a social club, young Jew
ish boys and girb would have a
place to meat, fall in love and
marry.
Apparently it worked. Several
young people who met at the
discotheque are about to get
married.
