Hadassah will hold its annual
conference this year on May 7, 8,
and 9 in Charleston, S.C.
Delegates from southern North
Carolina, South Carolina,
Georgia, and northern Florida
will represent their individual
chapters at this three day series of
working meetings. Following the

throughout the conference will be

and Yuval Metser, Consul for
Information, State of Israel.
Conference advisor will be Mrs.
Freda Lewis, Hadassah National
Youth Aliyah chairman. The
Southeastern Region of Hadassah
is presided over by Mrs. Edward
Sternberg of Atlanta.

The Jewish Family and
Children’s Bureau, in conjunction
with all the synagogues in the
Atlanta area, will co-sponsor a
Shabbat in honor of the Bureau on
May 19 and 20.
The various services offered by
the Bureau will be discussed in
each synagogue to enlighten the
community in regard to the
complexity of the agency and how
it is reaching out to affect the
community.
Members of the professional
staff of JFCB and members of the
Social Service Advisory Board will
be present at all the synagogues.
Chabad Center
The Chabad Center will hold
Passover services at the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center
beginning with Shacharit services
at 7 p.m., on Friday, April 21.
On Saturday, April 22, morning
services will be held at 9:30 a.m.,
with Mincha at 6:45 p.m., Maariv
at 8 p.m., and the Seder beginning
at 8:30 p.m. Morning services on
Sunday, April 23 will be at 9:30
a.m.
B’nai B'rith Women
Jn celebration of Israel’s
Independence Day, B’nai B'rith
Women will receive 10 percent of
the sales receipts of the Paper
Parlour, 5207 Buford Hwy., on
Thursday, May II. On that day
there will be a member of B’nai
B’rith Women on hand with
information and brochures about
the organization.

Lenox Chapter, ORT, will hold
a business meeting on Tuesday
April 25, at 1 p.m. at the
Community Room of Sears in
Buckhead.
Following the meeting will be a
Passover dessert and coffee and a
social hour.
North Suburban ORT
“House Plants, Their Selection
and Care" will be the topic of the
day at the general meeting of
North Suburban ORT, to be held
on Tuesday, April 25, 9:45 a.m.. at
the Garden Source, 3398
Piedmont Road. The store is
located next to Piedmont Crossing
and is across the street from Tower
Place. David E. Cook, proprietor,
will be the speaker.
Also on the program will be a
“Mother to Another” presentation
and a report on the recent
conference in Washington on
career development, sponsored by
the Department of HEW, and
attended by president Margery
Greenspan.
Temple Seniors
The Temple Seniors will hold a
luncheon with guest speaker
WXIA-TV Channel II weather
girl Gail Janus, at 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 26, at the
Temple.
The group is open to Temple
members, ages 55 and over, and to
parents of members.

Adults will sponsor a program
with guest Dr. Martin Luther King
Sr. as he discusses “Civil and
Religious Freedom: The
Black /Jewish Struggle,” at 8 p.m.
on Sunday, May 21, at the
synagogue.
The program is open to the
community.
