kickoff breakfast
AA luncheon benefits seminary
Congregation Etz Chaim Men’s
Club will hold its kickoff breakfast

Women will have a luncheon

Temple will speak on “The
Prevalence of Women in the
Rabbinate in Today’s World.”

NCJW professionals
open new season
The Young Professionals
Branch of the National Council of
Jewish Women will hold its first
meeting of the 1979-80 season at
7.30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, in the
community room of the DeKalb
Federal Savings and Loan, 5571
Chamblee Dunwoody Road,
Dunwoody Village.
The program, a "do it yourself
workshop," will be a learning and
money-saving experience.

Jewish Home hosts
weekly bingo games
Each Wednesday during the
year a different community service
organization takes time out from
its schedule of meetings, dinners,
and fund-raising events to generate
a sense of fellowship among the
residents of the Jewish Home
through its sponsorship of bingo
games.
Volunteers and the residents
themselves participate in
organizing these weekly games.
Harry Sternberg, serving as the
caller, and Mrs. Rose Freedman,
acting as hostess, assist fellow
residents in making these games a
success. Hilda Schwartzberg, a
member of the Volupteer Corps, is
coordinator of bingo scheduling.
Simcha Hadassah sponsored the
most recent bingo game on Sept.
12. Organizations scheduled to
visit the Home in the coming weeks
include Perimeter OR L, 7:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, Sept. 19; the Service
Guild, 2:30 pm.. Wednesday.
Sept. 26, and Stone Mountain
ORT, 7:30 p m.. Wednesday. Oct.

Ahavath Achim Sisterhood will
host a Torah Fund-Residence Hall
special gifts luncheon at 11:30
a m., Monday, Sept. 17, at the
home of Rabbi and Mrs. David H
Auerbach, 2463 Northside Drive.
The purpose of the luncheon is
to raise funds for the Torah Fund-
Residence Hall which supports the
Jewish Theological Seminary of
America. Ahavath Achim
Synagogue is an affiliate of the
seminary, which trains rabbis,
cantors, and teachers and also
operates Camp Ramah.
The guest speaker will be Mrs.
M. Milton Perry, immediate past

JNF presents
Joel Grey
Comedian Joel Grey will be
the guest entertainer for the
Jewish National Fund Dinner
on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The Jan. 12 dinner offers an
opportunity to support JNF's
reclamation work in Israel, as
well as an ciening of fun
and entertainment by one of
today's top celebrities. There
will be no speeches or
solicitations.

Zaban Branch, AJCC
needs club leaders
The Atlanta Jewish Community
Center's children’s department is
seeking part-time club leaders for
the various groups to be offered at
the AJCC’s new Zaban Branch
facility this fall
High school and college
students, adults and senior adults
are all eligible for these paid
positions. A wide spectrum of
clubs arc planned including
drama, woodcraft, nature, fishing,
canoe, collectors and cooking.
The fall session begins the week
of Oct. 8. Classes w ill be held in the
afternoons.

will lead the board orientation on

Atlanta ORT luncheon
aids vocational programs
The Atlanta Region of Women’*
American ORT will hold its
annual donor appeal luncheon at
10:30 a m., Tuesday, Sept. 18 at
the Perimeter Marriott.
Through the donor program
ORT is able to increase its support
of vocational schools for children
and adults in 22 countries
including the Bramson School in
New York City.

JNF collects
Blue Boxes Sept. 16
Jewish National Fund
representatives will be at Atlanta
religious schools on Sunday
morning. Sept. 16, to collect and
distribute additional JNF Blue
Boxes.
Each year since 1902, JNF Blue
Boxes have served as a link
between the Jewish people and the
land of Israel. Funds collected
from Blue Boxes the world over
make possible land reclamation
projects, preparation of new
settlements and expansion of
existing ones, road building,
preparation of land for industry
and agriculture, and beautification
of the land of Israel.
JNF representatives will collect
Blue Boxes from Sunday school
