Stahlman fund established
The Atlanta Jewish Community Center, through the efforts of
family and friends, is establishing a Nora Stahlman Tribute Fund
in memory of Nora'Stahlman, president of the AJCC senior adult
group for many years, who died Oct. I.
All funds collected will be applied towards the advancement of
AJCC senior adult programs. Contributions can be sent to the
AJCC and acknowledgements will be sent out immediately.

Gate City Lodge welcomes home Lipshutz
Gate City Lodge of B’nai B’rith
will host a dinner welcoming
former presidential counsel
Robert J. Lipshutz home to
Atlanta at 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct.
25, at the Standard Club.
Cocktails will be served at ,7:15
p.m.
Lipshutz, who served nearly
three years as counsel to the
President, left the White House to
return to practicing law.
Born in Atlanta in 1921, he
attended the University of Georgia
and graduated from its school of
law in 1943. After graduation he
served in the Army from 1943-46.
Lipshutz was appointed by then-
Governor Carter in 1972 to
Georgia's Board of Human

Resources and served a four-year
term as a member of the Georgia
State Commission on Compensa
tion. He also served as national
campaign treasurer for both the
Democratic nomination of Carter
and the Carter / M ondale
Presidential Campaign Committee
of 1976.
He has also been active in
various Jewish organizations in
Atlanta. He is a past president of
the Temple, past president of the
Atlanta Lodge of B’nai B’rith, and
a former member of the board of
trustees of the Atlanta Jewish
Federation. In 1976 Gate City
Lodge presented him with its
“Man of the Year” award.
The cost of the dinner is $10 a
person. The public is invited to
attend.

AZA chapter plans
50th reunion
The Louis J. Levitas Chapter of
AZA NO. 134 is seeking
individuals who have been
associated with the chapter as it
plans for its 50th anniversary
reunion.
The celebration will be held in

Post No. 112 Auxiliary
opens fall season
The opening fall meeting of
Atlanta Post No. 112 Ladies
Auxiliary, Jewish War Veterans
will be'held at 11:30 a m , Sunday,
Oct. 28, at the post home, 3840
Roswell Road.
Eleanor Schwartz, auxiliary
president, will give her report on
the national convention of the
Ladies Auxiliary which was
recently held in San Diego, Calif.
Jeanette Abgott was appointed
national guard by the newly
elected national president, Eleanor
Medoff.
A brunch will be served at a cost
of $4 a person.

North Suburban ORT
holds annual auction
North Suburban ORT will hold
its annual auction at 8 p.m.,
Saturday, Oct. 20, at the
Stoning ton Condominium
Clubhouse, 7070 Roswell Road.
The auction will feature high
quality new merchandise, as well
as certificates for services, dining
out, and lodging. Proceeds will
benefit the ORT School of
Engineering.
The cost is $6 per couple, which
includes a midnight breakfast. A
cash bar will be available.
Chairpersons of the event,
which is open to the community,

Brandeis Women plan
‘Annie’ theater party
Brandeis University Women’s
Committee will sponsor its annual
theater party with the viewing of
the musical “Annie” on Nov. 20 at
the Civic Theater.
Tickets are $30 a person, which
includes a Brandeis after-theater
party.

meets Oct. 25

Children’s stamp club
meets at Zaban Branch
The AJCCs stamp club for
children will hold its first meeting
at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, at the
Zaban Branch.
Children who are interested in
collecting stamps from any
country or starting a collection are
invited to attend. Israel stamp
collecting will be stressed.

Atlantans attend ORT convention

biennial national convention of Women's American ORT in
