Atlanta AZA holds
40th reunion
Atlanta AZA. a part of the B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization, is
planning a 50th reunion to run for
two nights in January
Chapter 134. the first chapter in
Atlanta, now known as Louis J
Levitas 134. invites all AZA
members, alumni, and friends to
participate Friday night. Jan 4. at
the Ahavath Achim Synagogue
when the members will conduct
services. j _
Saturday. Jan 5. the reunion
continues at the Colony Square
Hotel with cocktails at 7:30 p m
and dinner at 8:30
The program will highlight
reminiscences of former years and
special features of interest to all
AZA members, past and present
Among the guests expected to be
on hand are some alumni of the
Charleston, Savannah. Augusta
and Columbus chapters who are
now living in Atlanta.
T he price for the evening will be
$25 per person, with a cash bar.

chairmen for the new year

Savannah's Congregation
Agudath Achim recently installed
its new officers at the
congregation's semi-annual
meeting
Officers for the new year include

Linda Tillinger, vice presidents;
Linda Cohen, secretary; and
Victor Shernoff. treasurer

AA Sisterhood
focuses on divorce
Ahavath Achim Sisterhood will
present its second annual
“Sisterhood After Dark" at 8 p.m..
Monday. Jan 14, at the
synagogue. A business meeting
will prccedp the program
Babs Levitas will be the
commentator for the Plays for
Living presentation of "Divide and
Multiply." The 30-minute play
deals with the premise, divide the
family and you multiply the
problems The play asks its
audience to examine its own, as
well as common attitudes, about
divorce and single parenthood in
the hope that it will helpthose with
similar problems
A trained discussion leader will
lead a 30-minute discussion
following the play. A dessert will be
served.
Reservations are $1.50.

The Jewish Home recently
elected its new leadership.
Dr Stephen Kutner was re
elected chairman of the medical
board, and Dr Allan Bleich was
elected vice chairman

“Yulya's Dairy ." a documentary
which chronicles the daily journal
of Russian dissident poet Yulva
Voznesenskaya, will be aired bv
WGTV Channel 8 at 10 p m .

The documentary, punctuated
with dramatized scenes, recreates
entries from Yulya’s journal,
which was smuggled out of the
Soviet Union She had been
sentenced to five years ih Siberian
exile for trying to publish a
personal anthology of verse.
The program is part of the
international documentarv series.
