Harriet Zimmerman, 1980 co-
chairwoman of the Atlanta Jewish
Federation Women’s Division
Campaign, has been elected to the
national board of directors of the
American Jewish Joint Distribu
tion Committee and has been
designated as trustee of the United
Israel Appeal.
Mrs. Zimmerman also serves on
the National Women’s board of
the United Jewish Appeal. She is a
member of the board of director,
of the Atlanta Jewish Federation,
the Anti-Defamation League,
American Israel Public Affairs
Committee, and the American
Jewish Historical Society. She was
appointed by President Carter to
the National Council on the
Humanities of the National
Endowment for the Humanities.

Macon has made a unique
response to President Carter’s
request for the noontime tolling of
church bells in support of the
Americans being held hostage in
the U.S. Embassy in Iran. Instead
of bells. Rabbi Kravitz sounds the
shofar.

bridegroom, was the bridesmaid.

After a wedding trip to
Acapulco, the newlyweds will
reside in Miami.

Mrs. Herman Wapnick of
Atlanta announces the engagement
of her daughter, Phyllis Beth, to
Warren Rosenberg, son of Mrs.
Mary Rosenberg of Forest Hills,
N.Y., and the late Phillip
Rosenberg.
The bride-elect, also the
daughter of the late Herman
Wapnick, received her master’s
degree in special education from
the University of Tennessee and
teaches at the Atlanta Area School
for the Deaf.
The future bridegroom received
his master's degree as a reading
specialist from New York
University and teaches in the New
York CityLgchool system.
An August wedding is planned
at the Ahavath Achim Synagogue.
