Marilyn Bronstein of
Augwta performed at the gala
dinner celebrating the diamond
jubilee anniversary of Atlanta’s
Congregation Sbearitb brad
on Feb. 3.
Mrs. Bronatein studied at the
JuflUard School of Musk and
with Roae Bampton of the
Metropolitan Opera Company
in New York City. She
performed selections in
Yiddish, Hebrew and Eaglbb
to honor the congregation’s
75th anniversary.
Well-known for her singing
and her community activities in
Augusta, Mrs. Bronstein
brought to her performance a
rich traditional Jewish
background and musical style.
She w* atcompnnled by the
Celebrity Orchestra.
Susan Feinberg, state public
affairs chairman for the Atlanta
Section National Council of
Jewish Women, presented
testimony at the state bearings for
the White House Conference on
the Family on Jan. 28 in
Gainesville, Ga. Fran Ebenetat, a
former Atlantan and a former vice
president of the Atlanta Section
National Council of Jewish
Women, is on the national staff of
the conference in Washington,
DC.

John BuckhoNx emerged as-the
first place winner-fin the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center Zaban
Branch's recent fooseball
tournament. Second and third
place went to Darin Brickmaa and
Shaun Wolfson.
A table-tennis tournament, also
for first through ninth graders,
attracted 30 contestants, who were
divided into different classes by
age. First place winners were
Ralph Jordan, Class A, and Aaron
Clhishy, Class B. Amy Kamiu tied
for first place with her brother,
Mark, in Class C action.
Linda Cooper of Dunwoody has
been named Barton A Ludwig,
Inc., agent of the year for 1079 for
the DeKaib North Office. She
received an award at the
Company's annual awards
luncheon which was held Jan. 24 at
Dufaejr’e Royal Com* Hotel. -
The Bar Mitzva of Ivan Mark
Katz of College Park will take place
at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at
Ahavatb Achim Synagogue. Ivan
is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Myron
M. Katz and the grandson of Pearl
Katz and Ada Mesnekoff of
Miami.
The Bat Mitzva of Adrienne
Flaxman of Atlanta will take place
at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at
Congregation Shearith Israel. A
congregational kiddush will
follow. Adrienne it the daughter of
Gail Flaxman and Dr. Sheldon
Flaxman and the granddaughter
of Mrs. Mildred Lebowitz of
Cleveland, Ohio, the late Louis
Lebowitz, and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Flaxman.

place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb.
16, at the Temple. A congrega
tional kiddush will follow. Lanie is
the daughter of Rabbi and Mrs.

Jackson, Miss., the late Mr.
Herman, and the late Mr. and Mrs.

week’s Bridal Issue indicated that
Kingsley is not Jewish. Cantor
Goodfriend advises us that this
was an error. Kingsley is definitely
Jewish, Goodfriend says. We
regret the misunderstanding.
Herman Director, member of
the Savannah Home Furnishings
Association, has announced the
establishment of - four to five
scholarships to be used at
Armstrong State' or Savannah
State College in 1980. *
The scholarships, which would
pay for a year’s tuition, are
sponsored by local furniture
dealers who want to provide
recipients with an opportunity to
learn about the workings and
benefits of the industry. Some of
the stores participating in the

Atlanta artist Fay Gold will
exhibit her sculptural collages of
photographs from Feb. 9-March 1
at Rizzoli Bookstore and Gallery
in the Omni International Hotel.
Often painted in a variety of
colors, her collages are constructed
so that the photographs function
as unified forms rather than
disparate images. Representa
tional paintings by her students
including landscapes, portraits
and still lifts, will also be on
display.
