ORT celebrates ‘education power
With “100 Years of Education
Power” as their slogan, the
members of Atlanta Region,
Women’s American ORT will
observe ORTs centennial Thursday-
Sunday, April 17-20, at Perimeter
Mall.
Women’s American ORT is the
largest voluntary organization in
40 nations which supports the
global vocational education and
training operations of ORT
(Organization fo Rehabilitation
through Training).
Participating in an exhibit of
career and vocational education
will be Atlanta Area Tech, Men’s
ORT, Georgia Career Informa
tional Service and many state-
approved, non-degree institutions
in the Atlanta amt. Observers can
take part in the various displays
which will be ongoing from 10
a.m.-9:30 p.m. daily.
Among the highlights of the
display will be informal modeling
of fashions made by ORT students
in France, Morocco and Israel
Also featured are a children’s
corner and storytelling hour, a
continuous slide show of .“A
Bridge 100 Years Long,”’ a
computer system programmed for
career opportunities in Georgia,
and an exhibit of essays and
posters by local area students.
The awarding of prizes in the
essay and poster contests by local
personalities will take place at 7:30
p.m., Thursday, April 17. “A
Better Tomorrow with Carter
Education" is the theme of the
poster contest open to sixth and
seventh grade students at the
Hebrew Academy. The Occupa
tional Education Center of
DeKalb County will participate in
the essay contest. Entertainment
will be provided by the Hebrew
Academy Choir under the
direction of Nancy Sigal.
Members of the centranial
committee are Margery Greenspan,
chairman; Bunnie Taratoot,
Elaine Gruenhut, Carol Wendkos,
Bonhie Beerman, Beth Smith,
Janice Sasine, Linda Baron, Pat
