Atlanta teachers attend
professional conference
Nearly 300 Jewish school
teachers from Atlanta and
surrounding communities took
part in a full-day professional
conference at Congregation
Shearith Israel recently.
The conference, advertised as
the “Teacfiers In-Service
Experience,” was co-sponsored by
the Atlanta Bureau of Jewish
Education and the Southeastern
Region of the Coalition for
Alternatives in Jewish Education.
The program was organized by a
special committee of local Jewish
educators and teachers.
A total of 38 separate seminars
were featured at the Teachers In-
Service Experience, led by noted
educators from Atlanta and other
communities. These seminars
included sessions in Jewish content,
teaching methodology, and
organizational and management
skills.
