The Bar Mitzva of Jeremy
Noah Levine of Atlanta will
take place at 10:30 am.
Saturday, Sept. 3, ai Temple

Jeremy is the son of Dr. and
Mrs. Raphael Levine He is the
grandson of Dr. and Mrs.
Irving Hotchkiss of West Palm
Beach, Fla., and Josephine
Levine of Brooklyn.
Five Atlanta women will celebrate their B’not Mima at 9:30
a m Saturday. Aug 27, at Congregation Etz Chaim
The women have concluded two years of study with Rabbi
Shalom Lewis. This is one of many adult bat mitzva classes that
Rabbi Lewis has conducted in the past few years

Participating in the services will be 12 of the women's children.
Husbands will present the tallism to their wives, most of which
were handmade by the women.
A congregational kiddush luncheon will follow the services.
The Jewish Vocational
Service has named Richard
Binrnfeld of Atlanta as its first
assistant director to Herman
Lischkoff. chairman of JVS.
“Our agency has grown since its
inception in December 1975,”
Lischkoff said, “and our board
felt that the time has come to
have an assistant director for
the agency." Presently, the JVS
caseload is slightly over 700
cases a year
Binenfeld came to JVS from
the Milwaukee Jewish
Vocational Service in January
1980 and has been the prime
mover and supervisor behind
the successful Senior Adult
Workshop.
In addition to his workshop
position. Binenfeld has
supervised the JVS resettlement
program whose responsibility it
has been to help refugees obtain
employment.
Prior to accepting a position
at the Atlanta JVS, Bip'7 l | e jd
was a vocational rehabilitation
counselor for the Milwaukee
JVS. He has also had positions
with Young Judaea and has
been involved in synagogue and
center work. His degrees
include a master’s degree in
vocational rehabilitation
counseling.
The Bar Mitzva of Richard
Charles Israel of Stone Mountain
will take place at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 3, at Congregation
Beth Shalom.
Richard is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Steven Israel. He is the
grandson of Mrs. Beatrice Zivin of
Skokie, Ill., the late Charles Israel,
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Morton
Samelson.
Richard will have a proxy Bar
Mitzva for Gena Lukatch. formerly.
of Kiev, Ukraine, Russia.

Cindy is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Wolper. She is the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Moskowitz ol Decatur, and
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wolper of
Charleston.

Atlantan Leon F.gozi recently
received a master of taxation
degree from Georgia State
University.
While at Georgia State, he was
twice president of Alpha Epsilon
Pi fraternity, a member of
Omicron Delta Kappa National
Leadership Honor Society and
Mortar Board Honor Society. He
received Georgia State University’s
senior award and also a Mortar
Board Citation for Outstanding
Leadership.
He was also selected to “Who’s
Who in American Colleges and
Universities." In addition, he is a
member of Beta Alpha Psi
professional honoy'jy accounting
' r *'.Ci7my. He recently served as
co-chairman of the Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance Program.
Egozi recently passed the
nationwide CPA examination and
will be employed as a staff
accountant in the Atlanta office of
Price Waterhouse. He is also a past
recipient of B’nai B’rith’s Shield of
David Award.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jose Egozi of Miami Beach.
Amy and Larry Clark of New
York City announce the birth of a
son, Matthew Alan, on July 30.
Grandparents are Mr and Mrs.
Max L. Kuniansky of Atlanta, and
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clark of
Tulsa, Okla.
Matthew Alan was given the
Hebrew name Mattathias Avrum.

Karen Anne Siegel has received
a master of public health degree
from the University of Texas
School of Public Health in
Houston.
Miss Siegel, the daughter of
Stanley and Ruth Siegel of
Atlanta, is a graduate of Briarcliff
High School, the University of
Vermont and the University of
Texas at Austin.
She is now in private practice as
a registered dietitian in Houston.
