The Ahavath Achim Sisterhood
organizational board meeting will

Family Outreach Center
to begin Sept. 19
Family Outreach Center,
established for the prevention of
child abuse and neglect, has a
limited number of openings for
new volunteer trainees Sessions
will begin Sept. 19 and run for 12
weeks on Monday mornings from 9
am.-noon.
Content of the training course
will include an overview of child
abuse and neglect, communication
skills, crisis intervention, family
dynamics and values clarification.
The program is co-sponsored by the
Fulton County Department of
Family and Children Services and
the National Council of Jewish
Women, Atlanta Section.
Volunteers may be involved in
services such as a telephone
hotline, outreach work with
individual families, a speaker’s
bureau, an elementary school
puppet show, an after-school
program for children of client
families, and parent education and
support groups. The center is
located at 120 Copeland Road,
Suite 264 in Sandy Springs.

to discuss Yom Tov ideas
The Gesher Tzion Chapter of
American Mizrachi Women will
discuss Yom Tov entertaining
ideas at 8 p.m Monday, Aug. 29,

A panel of experts will
demonstrate flower arrangements,
table settings and decorations, and
prepare decorative dishes for the
Yomim Tovim.

Hillel announces holiday services
Dr. Perry Brickman, chairman
of the Atlanta Hillel board, has
announced that there will be High
Holiday services on the Emory
campus for all college students and
members of any university faculty
or staff in the Atlanta area.
Both Conservative and Reform
services will be held, under the
guidance of Rabbi Daniel Allen,
executive director of Atlanta
Hillel.
Student committees help run the
services which include student
participation. Also, holiday meals
will be available at Hillel.
