p m in the Zaban Lounge on
Monday. Dec. 19, at AJCC

was born in Bulgaria but
emigrated to Israel where he was
vice principal of a high school in
Beersheba for five years. He also
has conducted special seminars for
training teachers while in
Sdeboker, and was the superintendent
over eight schools near Yehud for
four years. For the last 18 years, he
was the principal of the “Makif’
High School in Yehud. Joseph was
also the initiator of “Project
Renewal” in Yehud. Zipora

The Meshulams consider one of
their most significant achievements

“Jews Around the World” by
internationally known photographer
and educator Arthur Leipzig
begins Wednesday. Jan. 4, in the
exhibition area of the Atlanta
Fulton Public Library in
Downtown Atlanta, I Margaret
Mitchell Square.
Depicting the ties that bind Jews
together worldwide—religion,
ritual commitment—photographer
Leipzig captures Jews around the
world as a diverse people of
different color, cultures and
customs.
This special exhibit will be
accompanied by several major
programs during the month of its
run. Programming will take place
at the library during the 12:30-2

periods to be announced, and is
free and open to everyone.
The Jewish communities of
Ethiopia, Hungary, India, Israel
Morocco, Rumania and Tunisia

exhibition which took nearly three
years to photograph. Photographer
Leipzig explains the purpose of his
worldwide travels, in order to
capture these diverse Jewish
communities on film, as an
opportunity to “explode false
stereotypes and myths concerning
the geographic distribution, class,
economics and race" of the Jewish
people.
Leipzig’s works have been
featured in the Metropolitan
Museum of Art in New York and
at the George Eastman House.
Coordinating the events
surrounding the exhibition are the
