A new specialized MARTA service
will take handicapped persons and
people 60 and over in DeKalb and
Fulton counties to the AJCC on a
regular basis. Cost for curbside
pickup will be $1 each way.

The evening branch of the National
Council of Jewish Women will
honor the November birthday resi
dents at the Jewish Home with a party
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, on
the second floor. Charles Redman,
local entertainer, will present musical
numbers.
The third floor lesidents will be
honored at 3 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 27.

Cable TV 12 will feature
segment on Kahn Home
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27,
the Louis Kahn Group Home will
be highlighted as part of the “We
Are The Seniors” program of Cable
Atlanta Channel 12.
The theme of the show is cele
brations, and the residents of the
Kahn Home have been interviewed
about how they celebrate holidays
as part of the Kahn Home Family.
Franklin Garrett will also be a
guest for this show.

to hold Nov. 26 meeting
Dunwoody Springs chapter of
ORT will meet at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 26, at the home of Janet
Rush, 5400 Redfield Circle. Mrs.
Sofia Konstantinovsky will discuss
“Living Under Communism.” She
was one of the Jews allowed to
emigrate from Russia in 1975. She
left most of her family behind.

for eighth graders, parents
“An Introduction to BBYO: An
Evening for New Members and
Parents,” a presentation by youth
leaders, advisers, adult board
members and staff will be held

Shearith Israel Teens will host a
program at the Stone Mountain
Ice Chalet, Sunday, Nov. 24. The
bus will pick up at the synagogue at
12:30 p.m. and at the Hebrew
Academy at 12:45 p.m. Participants
will return to the synagogue at 5:30
p.m.
The event is opened to all Jewish
teenagers. Cost of the afternoon,
including skate rental and trans

Epstein School to host
Hanuka dinner Dec. 11
The Epstein School’s annual
Hanuka dinner will be held at 6
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Ahavath
Achim Synagogue. The dinner will
be sponsored by the school’s PTA.
All prospective and current Epstein
students are invited, as well as
Ahavath Achim preschoolers.
Children entering the first grade in
1986 are invited, with their parents,
to be the school’s guests. Enter
tainment will be provided by the
kindergarten through third grades
and by the Epstein School Chorale.
Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for
children. Reservations will be
accepted by check to the Epstein
School PTA, 48 Spring Oaks Court,
Atlanta 30327, no later than Dec.

ORT’s ‘Music Box’ cart
to play Perimeter Mall
“The Music Box” cart will be
open from Nov. 20-Dec. 31 at
Perimeter Mall. Hilly Panovka chairs
the volunteers from North Suburban
ORT, Crosstown ORT and
Dunwoody Springs ORT who will
man the cart, to be located in front
of McDonald’s.
All wood music boxes, appropriate
for Hanuka or Christmas giving,
as well as several styles of menorahs
will be for sale. Also available will
be small wood tree ornaments suitable
for teachers’ gifts or stocking stuffers.
ORT s worldwide vocational
training program will benefit from
“The Music Box” sales.
