Sam Blaine
Mitchell Jersawitz
Sam Blaine, 86, of Cleveland,
Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 14.
He was the father of Sol Blaine
of Atlanta.
Funeral service will be held
Friday, Jan. 17, at Berkowitz Funeral
Home in Cleveland.
A native of Kiev, Russia, he
immigrated to Cleveland. For the
past 17 years he lived in North
Miami Beach. He was a retired
tailor.
Other survivors include his wife,
Miriam Blaine; son, Arthur Blaine
of Miami Beach; grandchildren,
Sara Solomon, Barbara McRee
and Wendy Owens, all of Atlanta,
and Sara Jacobs, David Jacobs
and Louis Jacobs, all of Cleveland;
and seven great-grandchildren.

Bernstein Unveiling
The unveiling ceremony in memory
of Michel Bernstein will be held at
noon Sunday, Jan. 26, at Crest Lawn
Memorial Park. Rabbi Robert Ichay
will officiate.
M itchell Jersawitz, 78, of Atlanta
died Monday, Jan. 13.
Graveside service was held
Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Greenwood
Cemetery, with Rabbi Marvin
Richardson officiating.
A retired postal employee, he
was a member of Ahavath Achim
Synagogue.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Millie Jersawitz; daughter, Mrs.
Olga Roos of Hampton, Ga.; sons,
Jack Jersawitz and Charles Jersawitz,
both of Atlanta, and Frank Jersawitz
ofNew YorkCity;and four grand
children.
Jack Murad Husney, 85, of
Jacksonville, Fla., died Wednesday,
Jan. 8.
He was the father of Mrs. Sara
Solomon of Atlanta.
Graveside service was held
Thursday, Jan. 9, at Etz Chaim
Cemetery in Jacksonville, with Rabbi
Yitzchok Adler and Cantor Jacob
Lefkowitz officiating.
A native of Aleppo, Syria, he
was the husband of the late Esther
Mizrahi Husney.
Other survivors include a son,
Mel M. Husney of Chattanooga;
sisters, Mrs. Annette Belkin and
Mrs. Sadie Gubay, both of New
York City; and grandchildren, Franci,
Marc and Brian Solomon, and
Larry and David Husney.

OSI seeks camp survivors
Mr. Herman Sobel
The U.S. Department of Justice
has requested the assistance of the
World Jewish Congress in locating
witnesses to Nazi crimes committed
at the Dachau concentration camp
in Germany between 1940 and 1943
and at the Wiener Neudorf concen
tration camp in Austria between
1943 and 1945.
The Department's Office of Special
Investigations (OSI) is in the process
of gathering evidence in connection
with its investigations of suspected
Nazi war criminals residing in the
United States.
OSI is especially interested in
contacting survivors of Dachau
and or Wiener Neudorf who spent
time in slave labor squads (“Aussen-
kommando”) at either camp, or
who observed the activities of SS
dog-handling guards (“Hunde-
fuehrer”) at either camp. OSI also
seeks to contact survivors of Wiener
Neudorf who participated in a forced
march of prisoners under SS guard
from that camp to the Mauthausen
concentration camp in approximately
April 1945.
Survivors, or those who might
be o! assistance in locating survivors
from these camps, may communicate
in any language they choose and

Mr. Herman Sobel, 57, of Fort
Lauderdale, Fla,, died Friday, Jan
10.
He was the father of Mrs. llene
Schmidt and Mrs. Janet Stout,
both of Atlanta.
Funeral service was held M onday,
Jan. 13, at Levitt Weinstein Memorial
Chapel, with interment in Beth
David Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale.
Rabbi Harold Richter officiated.
He was a member of the Knights
of Pythias.
Other survivors include his wife,
Gladys Gordon Sobel; sister, Jean
Bezack; and granddaughter, Fannie
Yeager.
