Action In Cobb County
Recently the AJCC held a public forum at Etz Chaim
Synagogue to discuss the presence of a Center Facility in
the Northwest suburbs.
We were delighted to see the over 300 people who
showed up, Our leadership was energized by the enthusi
asm of those in attendance.
Two themes were heard throughout the evening; first
that there will be a Center in the area although the exact
location was still being explored; secondly, that both the
Center and the Federation leadership made it clear to the
audience that the creation of a Center and its continuing
support was in the hands of the people living in the
Northwest area.
Based on the results of that evening the Center's
leadership commitment to move ahead was reinforced.
So was the realization that a Center can only be built and
maintained with the active and dedicated leadership from
the Jewish community in Cobb, Roswell and Alpharetta.
Both of those ingredients seemed to be in place. We’re off
to a good start.
