voted to adopt the new Conser
vative prayerbook “Siddur Sim

the United Synagogue of America
and the Rabbinical Assembly,
represents the first change in the
Conservative liturgy since the
publication of the Silverman
prayerbook in 1945. Its new
format, prayers and translations
reflect a modern approach to a
centuries-old liturgy. Beth Shalom
is the first Conservative congre
gation in the Atlanta area to adopt
the book.
The book will be introduced at
special services on March 14 and
15. The congregation will also
honor the families who made
donations so that the new Siddur
Sim Shalom be available. Friday
services begin at 8 p.m., Saturday
