Hi CENTER'S
News from the Atlanta Jewish Community Center, Inc.
Welcome to New Board Members
At our Annual Meeting on Sunday, March 23, a new
slate of board members will be nominated for election for
a three-year term.
Becoming a board member at the AJCC is a significant
honor but carries with it major responsibilities for the
direction of agency policy and program for the next few
years.
Board members are expected to serve actively on at
least one of the 25 committees which govern all aspects of
Center program and administration. In addition, they
support both financially and as volunteers the many
efforts of the agency and are called upon to help with
membership recruitment and retention.
We welcome this year’s slate of board members. We
feel that the nominating committee has done an excellent
job of reaching out into the community to bring fresh
vision and energy to our operation.
This year’s nominating committee was chaired by
Perry Morris and included Howard Hyman, Ed Man
ning, Ted Levy, Steve Berman, Ed Greenblatt, George
Stern and Asher Benator.
The nominees for 1986-89 are- Robert Arogeti, Lois
Blonder, Michael Brown, Tova Cohen, Don Jaslow, Ed
Mendel, Lisa Galanti-Rabinowitz.
Those nominated for a second three-year term are Gil
Bachman. Marvin Botnick, Lisa Brill, Marshall Diner-
man, Mark Eden, George Fox, Vida Goldgar, David
Kuniansky, Jon Miller, Alex Milt, Sylvan Makover,
Ruth Rauzin, Brian Schiff.
Renominated for a second term as officers were: Jack
Freedman, president, Harris Jacobs, first vice president,
Cary Rosenthal, vice president, Allen Soden, vice presi
dent, Jay Kessler, secretary and Rita Klee, treasurer.
Nominations for all the officers and the members of the
board may also be made in writing to the secretary by any
member in good standing not less than 10 days prior to
the Annual Meeting.
Come to Our Beach Ball
Mark your calendars for the best party ever at “Beach-
tree.” April 19 is the date and our almanac tells us that the
tide is coming in at 8 p.m., repleat with beach bums and
bathing beauties.
Scintillating models will present swim wear rivaled
only on the pages of Playboy. Beach food (sand
optional), dancing to beach music and a general beach
ambiance is guaranteed.
The “Beach Ball” committee is searching for talented
artists, performers and models for its sea-side ex
travaganza.
Don’t waste a minute—search for your flip-flops and
cut-offs; call Chana or Kathleen at 875-7881 if you would
like to participate in the process of turning our Peachtree
building into “Beachtree.” A vertitable paradise of sand,
sea and moonlight.

This Weekend See L’il Abner
Don’t miss our teen production of L’il Abner. This is a
wonderful show for the entire family and since there are
so few theatrical opportunities for you and your children
to participate in together don’t miss the matinee perfor
mance on March 9 at 3 p.m. There are also evening shows
on Thursday night, March 6, Saturday, March 8 and 15
and Sunday, March 9. Every show so far presented by
our AJCC/BBYO Teen Theatre has been a delight. So
let’s come out and show those kids that we really appre
ciate all their energy and hard work. You won’t regret it.
Lunch and Learn with Rabbi Feldman
