Club 50 to hold
Spring Dinner Dance
Club 50 will hold its annual
Spring Dinner Dance from 8:30
p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, May
17 at the Club Savoy in Chamblee.
Featured will be a disc jockey
playing big band tunes from the
’40s, ’50s, and '60s. There will be
dance contests, an all-you-can-eat
buffet and a cash bar.
Reservations should be made by
May 5. Cost is $13.50 for AJCC/-
Club 50 members, $20 for non

Family Life Workshops
slated for May at JFS
Registration has begun at Jew
ish Family Services for the spring
family life workshops. The work
shops are scheduled to begin in
May at a time convenient to most
participants. Family life education
is planned intervention to help
groups of individuals and families
understand and deal with commun
ity, individual and family living
patterns that are stress-producing.
Workshops are being offered for
persons contemplating retirement;
for single parents and their child
ren; for parents wishing to improve
communication with their child
ren; for persons and their spouses
who are contemplating conversion
or have converted to Judaism; and
for persons in their middle years.
All groups are conducted by
professional staff members of Jew
ish Family Services. For further

Taryag-Atlanta, NCSY
wins highest honor
Over 120 youths attended the 33rd
annual NCSY Southern Regional
Convention in Atlanta recently at
Congregation Beth Jacob. NCSY-
ers from eight cities attended. The
theme was “Russian Jewry: Let
My People Go.”
Programming consisted of ses
sions on American anti-Semitism
and Russian Jewry, a scavenger
hunt and presentation of NCSY
Regional Standards awards. The
awardees from the Taryag-Atlanta
chapter of NCSY included Adam
Gerber, Mark Pollock, Joseph Shaw,
Mark Koffsky, Clare Lubel, Vered
Weiner and Joanne Fisher. The
chapter was also awarded NCSY’s
highest honor, Chapter of the
Year, for its outstanding program
ming and leadership.
Adult enrichment program
to begin on May 13
The Spring ’86 Institute for
Adult Enrichment co-sponsored
by the Atlanta Jewish Community
Center and The Temple will be
held on Tuesdays, beginning May
13 and will run through June 10.
Classes meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
at The Temple. The Institute is a
daytime educational series for men
and women of all ages.
Classes for the Spring ’86 session
include the joys of sex, developing
your self-esteem, weight control,
forgotten heroines of the Bible,
conversational Hebrew, bridge and
the history of Israel through coins
and stamps.

Single Scene, a Cincinnati non
profit social group invites all Jew
ish singles 35 and up to its annual
singles weekend, being held this
year over Memorial Day weekend.
Beginning Friday, May 23 through
noon Monday, May 26, the event
will be held at the new Hyatt
Regency Hotel in downtown Cin
cinnati with a high school gradua
tion theme.
The cost of $130 per person
(hotel additional) includes seven
meals, “Senior Prom,” sock hop,
open hospitality room, indoor swim
ming and health club.
Within walking distance
through the enclosed Skywalk sys
tem are shopping malls, museums
and the historic Isaac M. Wise
Temple. Tours of the city are avail
able. The annual “Taste of Cincin
nati” street fair will be going on
during the weekend in a nearby
park.

Rolling in dough
Children roll out matzo at the Matzo Factory recently held at
the Atlanta Jewish Community Center as a Lubavitcher rabbinic
student explains how it’s done. About 1,000 children visited the
Matzo Factory, held over a five-day period, which was sponsored
by Chabad of Georgia, the Atlanta Bureau of Jewish F.ducation
and the AJCC.
