The Spirit of Life Chapter of the
City of Hope will hold its closing
meeting and installation of officers
at a brunch at 9:30 a.m. Wednes
day, May 21, at the home of Ellen
Malka, 310 Green Park Court.
Robyn Freedman Spizman, noted
author and weekly “Noonday” craft
expert, will demonstrate quick, on
the spot remedies for entertaining
children, taken from her latest book,
“Lollipop Grapes & Clothespin
Critters.”
Cost is $4 a person. Members

JWV Post 980 meeting
to feature Pete Wheeler
Suburban Post 980 JWV will
hold its regular meeting at 10:30
a.m. Sunday May 18 at the Lake-
moore Club House on Lakemoore
Drive, N.E. Brunch will be served
for $4 a person.
Speaker will be Pete Wheeler,
commissioner of Georgia Depart
ment of Veterans Service. He will
discuss veterans affairs and will
answer questions.

Beth Tefillah to sponsor
community Torah studies
Congregation Beth Tefillah is
offering two Torah courses which
are open to the entire community.
Lhe first course, “Following and
Understanding the Siddur,” is for
women only, and will take place
I uesdays from May 20 through
June 10, from 10 to 11 a.m.
I he second course, “Ethics of
our Fathers,” for men and women,
will take place Saturday evenings,
from May 17 through June 7 at
7 30 p.m. followed by Ma’ariv and
Havdalah services. Both courses
will be held at the shul. 5065 High
Point Road, Sandy Springs. There

Club I Na’amat slates
reading of original script
Club I Na’amat USA will
hold its regular meeting and tea at
1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at the
Jewish Tower. An original script,
“A Tribute to Mother,” will be
read by Anne Hoffman, Blanche
Rockitter, Pearl Themperand Rose
Joel.
The tea is being sponsored by
Eva and Shalom held and family
in memory of their sister. Mrs held

Club 50 slates picnic
June 1 at Zaban Park
AJCC’s Club 50 will hold its
annual picnic at 5:30 p.m. Sunday,
June I, at the Zaban Park Family
Fun Shelter, rain or shine.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato
salad, cole slaw, soft drinks and
watermelon will be served. Cost is
$1 a person for AJCC or Club 50
members and $5 for non-members.

Ha’Makor forum to focus
on Soviet seders May 21
Ha’Makor invites all single and
married adults to a presentation by
Beth Gluck entitled “Passover
Behind the Iron Curtain,” at 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at The
Temple. Ha’Makor is The Temple’s
young adult group.
Ms. Gluck, Southern Region
director of Young Judaea, spent
Passover in the Soviet Union last
year and will share her experi
ences. There will be a group
discussion and a dessert reception
will follow.
