annual membership meeting will
be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May

installed; Rabbi Eliezer Vilinsky,
principal, will deliver the state of
the school report and Dr. Henry
Falk, president, will present the
annual report.

to hold installation
Dr. Herbert Karp to talk
at next Ahava meeting
Ahava, the “over 60” group at
Ahavath Achim Synagogue, will
meet at noon Tuesday, May 20, at
the synagogue. Dr. Herbert Karp,
director of medical services at
Wesley Woods and the geriatric
division at Emory University, will
discuss “The Patient’s Role in Good
Health Care.”
Lunch will be served for $2.50 a

to install officers May 19
Beth Jacob Sisterhood
to mark 40th anniversary
Beth Jacob Sisterhood will hold
its installation meeting at 8 p.m.
Monday, May 19, at the synagogue.

The meeting will include the
premiere of the newly published
synagogue cookbook, “Kosher De
lights”; installation of 1986-87
officers and a commemoration of
the sisterhood’s 40th anniversary.

The Sisterhood of Congregation
B’nai Torah will hold its installation

Lady of Cumberland Mall.

Congregation Beth Tefillah will

Goods, services auction
set at Temple Emanu-El
Temple Emanu-El will hold its
annual goods and services auction
at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at
the synagogue.
Items for auction include gifts
from stores the world over, auto
graphed sports equipment, holiday
hotel weekends, restaurant dinners,
sporting and theater tickets, beauty
treats and more.
Silent bidding begins at 7:30
p.m. with verbal bidding at 9. A
$10 admission includes dinner.

It’s never too late
Students from The Temple’s first adult B’nai Mitzva classes,
after a year’s study, will be called to the Torah at 8:15 p.m. Friday,
May 23 and May 30, during service conducted by class members.
The Tuesday class, taught by Roberta Louis, director of
