85. A life member of AM IT Women,
Mrs. Galler was president of the
Atlanta Chapter from 1968-1975.

David Taylor
Dr. Taylor, six others
elected by Temple Sinai
Dr. David M. Taylor of Atlanta
was elected president of Temple
Sinai at its annual meeting recently.
Serving with Dr. Taylor are Richard
Bardack, Stanley Cohen and Rubin
Piha, vice presidents; Elyse Hey-
man, secretary; Morton Tauber,
treasurer; and Howard Workman,
assistant treasurer.
Dr. Taylor has served on the
board of trustees and as vice presi
dent of Temple Sinai. He serves on
the medical board of the Jewish
Home and is medical adviser to the
Visiting Nurses Association of At
lanta and president of the Georgia
Medical Plan Physicians’ Associa
tion. He is a past president of the
Georgia Society of Internal Medi
cine and chairman of the Depart
ment of Medicine at Georgia Bap
tist Medical Center. He is an as
sistant clinical professor of medicine
at Emory University and the Med
ical College of Georgia.
Dr. Taylor and his wife, Arlene,
have three children, Howard, 25,
Debbie, 23 and Robin, 20.

two summer lectures
The American Jewish Commit
tee’s Young Professionals will meet
at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the
home of Phyllis and Richard
Franco. Yehuda Mor and Alan
Lubel will address the topic, “The
PLO and the Palestinian Question.”
The group will also meet at 8
p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the home
of Mickie Eisenberg. Dr. Linda
Brady, a fellow at the Carter Cen
ter of Emory University, will speak
on “The Nuclear Arms Race." Her
field is international security and
arms control.

The Temple will honor its High
School Senior Honors Program
participants and Hebrew High
School graduates during a special
Shabbat service at 8:15 p.m. Fri

Celebration of knowledge
Students of C ongregation Shearith Israel's Saturday afternoon
( humash class recently celebrated at siyum (marking the comple
tion of a unit of Torah study). The class, which has studied various
subjects for over 2Vi years completed as in-depth study of the book of
of Bereshit (Genesis). Rabbi Arnold D. Samian, assistant rabbi of
the congregation, taught the class.
