Michael is the son of Jane
and Bob Leavey. He is the
grandson of Dr. and Mrs.
Jerome Denaburg of Baltimore,
and Minnie S. Leavey of
Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
Michael will share his Bar
Mitzva with Gennadi Lubensky
of Minsk, U.S.S.R.
Edward E. Elson of Atlanta
has been elected a member of
the board of directors of the
National Foundation of Jew ish
Culture. The Foundation is the
central coordinating body for
American Jewish cultural life,
stimulating artistic and scholarly
activities.
Elson is also on the Presi
dent’s Council and is a fellow of
Brandeis University. He is
treasurer of the American Jew
ish Committee and serves on its
board of governors and as a
trustee. He has served as vice
president of the American Jew
ish Historical Society and is a
member of its executive com
mittee.
In addition to being chair
man of W.H. Smith and Son
(USA) Holdings, Elson is also
chairman of Elson’s, a chain of
retailers in major hotels, air
ports and train stations through
out the country, and chairman
of Atlanta News Agency, dis
tributors of periodicals and
books throughout the Southeast.
The Bat Mitzva of Debbie
Medintz of Decatur will take
place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday,
June 28, at Congregation Shear-
ith Israel. A congregational
kiddush will follow.
Debbie is the daughter of
Robin and Phillip Medintz. She
is the granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Sears of Hallan
dale, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy
Ashendorf of Charlotte, N.C.,
and the late Barney Medintz.
Great-grandparents are Mrs.
Ruth Davis of Atlanta, and

The B’nai Mitzva of H. Michael Litt and A. Jonathan Litt of
Atlanta will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Congrega
tion Or VeShalom. A congregational kiddush will follow.
Jonathan and Michael are the sons of Barbara and Eric Litt.
They are the grandsons of Rosalind and Martin Litt of Plainview.
N.Y., and Terry arid Jack Galet of Tamarac, Fla. Great-grand
mother is Mrs. Vivian Landskroner of Tamarac.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Levy of
Atlanta will celebrate their 50th
wedding anniversary June 23. A
reception was held June 1 5 in their
honorat Vinings on the River Res
taurant by their four children and
eleven grandchildren. One hundred
tw'enty-five friends and relatives
joined them in celebration.

recently received a master’s
degree in engineering psychology
from Rice University in Houston.
She graduated three years ago
from Columbus College, magna
cum laude in each of her three
degrees. She has been accepted
at the University of Texas to
work on her doctorate.

Irene and Herman Rothstein.

Marcia Dworetz of Atlanta
recently received an award from
Mits Uchida, president of the
United States TAIDO Associa
tion, for outstanding accomp
lishments in public relations on
behalf ol the Japanese martial
arts organization.
Ms. Dworetz, a native of New
York, is president of Marcia
Dworetz Communications.
Julie I.ayne Kinsler. of Atlanta
recently graduated from the Lovett
School. She was a student at the
Hebrew Academy through the fifth
grade.
Julie was awarded first runner-
up in the Alumni Art Show during
her junior year. As a senior she
received the Fine Arts Guild Cit
ation for Excellence in the field of
visual arts.
She attended Camp Barnev
Medintz tor the past seven years.
C urrently she is on the CBM staff
as an arts specialist.
Julie will attend the University
of Georgia in the fall and partici
pate in the arts program.
She is the daughtei of Jan and
Jack H. Kinsler.
Dunwoody photographers Eric
and Bob Wittmayer have been se
lected to participate in a major
national marketing program spon
sored by Eastman Kodak Com
pany’s Professional Photography
Division.
The campaign is aimed at pro
spective brides to explain the servi
ces and benefits of professional
wedding photography. The photo
graphers’ input is included inelab
orate “how to” brochure.

are members of the Georgia Pro
fessional Photographers' Associa
tion and the Professional Photo
graphers of America. In addition.
Bob Wittmayer is a member and
past president of the American
Society of Photographers.

David A. Kleber, son of Mi and
Mrs. Garvin Kleber, recently
graduated from Riverwood High
School delivering the commencery
address. David was an honor stu
dent and graduated with a 3.8
grade point average.’” He was a
finalist in the National Merit Scho
larship competition and attended
the Governor’s Honors Program
in the field of communications.
David is a member ol the Na
tional Honor Society and was re
cently honored by the Rotary C luh
of Sandy Springs as a recipient ol
their annual scholarshin. He wnl

demic scholarship in the tall.
He was also awarded the flemy
King Stanford Scholarship to the

Danny Gross was the winner of
two round-trip airline tickets on
Air Atlanta at B’nai B'rith Leo M.
Frank Lodge’s recent Las Vegas
night. Net proceeds from the event
will support the lodge and B’nai
B’rith Youth Organization.
