UAHC to conduct forum
for interfaith couples
The Southeast Council of the
Union of American Hebrew Con
gregations is sponsoring an eight-
week program for unaffiliated in
terfaith couples from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 22, at
Temple Emanu-EI. The forum con
siders concerns such as relation
ships within the extended family,
holiday celebrations and raising
children. The group is designed to
provide a supportive atmosphere,
enabling participants to share with
others in similar circumstances. It
will also encourage dialogue be
tween partners concerning aspects
of Jewish life.
The cost is $60 a couple and
advance registration is required.

Alex Gross
Alex Cross to address
NCSY monthly seminar
On Tuesday, Oct. 7 Alex Gross
will speak at the National Confer
ence of Synagogue Youth (NCSY)
monthly seminar at 6:30 p.m., at
Beth Jacob Synagogue. He will
speak on “Personal Faith."
Gross, a survivor of Auschwitz
and the transport to Buchenwald,
was liberated there by the Ameri
cans in 1945. After the Holocaust,
however, tragedy continued to beset
his family. He is an active member
of Hemshech (the organization of
survivors in Atlanta) and the Fed
eration committee on the Holo
caust.

Rabbi David Geffen sets
talk on Conservatism
Rabbi David Geffen, a native
Atlantan living in Israel, will visit
Atlanta for the holidays. He will
speak on the progress and prob
lems of the Conservative move
ment in Israel at 7:30 p.m. Mon
day, Oct. 6, in Ellman Chapel,
Ahavath Achim Synagogue. A dis
cussion will follow.

AA’s Ahava to hear
Max Robkin review book
Ahava the retired person’s group
at Ahavath Achim Synagogue, will
meet at noon Wednesday, Oct. 15,
at the synagogue. Max Robkin will
review “The Jewish Connection”

Atlanta Region of ORT
to initiate ad campaign
The Atlanta Region of Women’s
American ORT will hold its region
board meeting at 7:15 p.m. Wed
nesday, Oct. 8, at the AJCC/ Peach
tree. The meeting will feature an
introduction of a new ad campaign
for growth.
