Leo Frank Lodge to hear

The Leo M. Frank Lodge of
B’nai B’rith #3216 will hold a gen
eral membership meeting at 6:30
p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Congre
gation Or VeShalom.
Vida Goldgar, editor of The
Southern Israelite, will speak about
the history of The Southern Israe
lite and how it relates to the history
of the Atlanta Jewish community.
In addition, nominations for next
year’s officers will take place. A
kosher meal will be served. The
meeting is open to all members and
prospective members. For more

The lodge’s second charity ball is
scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Saturday,
Nov. I, at the Westin-Peachtree
Pla/a Hotel. This year, the money
raised through donations will go to
support the Atlanta Area Jewish
day schools. Tickets can be pur
chased by mail or at the door for
S18 a person (sponsor); $36 (donor);
S54 (patron). Black tie optional,
kosher desserts and cash bar.
JFS announces start of
new family life workshop
In response to requests from the
community, Jewish Family Servi
ces is looking for divorced, non
custodial fathers to participate in a
workshop to discuss issues of mut
ual concern. Family Life Educa
tion Workshops are geared to shar
ing common problems and experi
ences which affect today’s families.
Trained social workers provide
leadership and focus for these
groups.
These groups are open to the
public on a fee basis which can be
adjusted with ability to pay. For

Jewish book review club
to study ‘Shcharansky’
The Jewish Book Review Club,
sponsored by the Atlanta Bureau
of Jewish Education, will meet at
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in the
Bureau Conference Room, AJCC/
Peachtree.
"Shcharansky,” a new biography
by Martin Gilbert, will be reviewed
by Jack Weiner. The community is
invited.

Heading for the hills

Morning Program on a recent trip to Camp Blue Ridge in Clayton,
Ga. The eighth grade spent the weekend gettingire acquainted after
their summer separation, and preparing for the 1986-87 school year
with their teachers.
