The third annual nationwide
Jewish Singles Supercruise, spon
sored by the St. Louis Jewish
Community Centers Association,
is set for February and March
1987, aboard the m/s Tropicale
of Carnival Cruise Lines.
Jewish singles, 20-40, will sail
on Feb. 22, singles 40-60 on
March 1.
The Tropicale sails from Los
Angeles to the Mexican ports of
Mazatlan; Puerto Vallarta; and
Cabo San Lucas. Approximately
one day is spent in each port with
three full days at sea. For more

United Synagogue Singles pre
sents two 12-day trips to Israel,
departing Dec. 24, and returning
Jan. 4.
One, for singles 22-35, will
include touring in the Negev
desert, and a stay at the winter
resort of Eilat. Cost is $1,199 a
person (double occupancy).
The second trip, for singles 35-
60, will offer a chance to tour
Israel in style, and will include
special events with Israeli singles,
a New Year’s Eve Gala, and five-
star accommodations. The cost
is $1,499 per person (double
occupancy).

Children’s educators
plan D.C. conference
An optimal experience that
will include workshops, discus
sions, tours and networking will
be featured at the eighth annual
conference of Jewish Early Child
hood educators in Washington,
D.C. from Wednesday, Nov. 12
through Saturday, Nov. 16. The
National Jewish Early Childhood
Network (NJECN) is an affiliate
group of the National Associa
tion for the Education of Young
Children (NAEYC) which will
also be convening for its annual
national conference.
“We expect over 300 Early
Childhood administrators, con
sultants and teachers from across
the United States and Canada,”
noted NJECN president, Mickey
Feinberg of Washington, D.C.

tured in a new concept of learn
ing through the adoption of a
scholar in residence. Dr. Miriam
Shapiro, director of the BJE
Teachers’ Center in White Plains,
N.Y. is this year’s noted scholar.
