George S. Stern, senior partner
in the law firm of Stern & Funk
P.C. was recently elected to the
board of governors of the Amer
ican Academy of Matrimonial
Lawyers at its annual meeting
held in Chicago.
The academy, founded in 1963,
is a national professional associ
ation for family law specialists.
Admission is by invitation to
attorneys practicing more than
10 years who devote at least 75
percent of their practice to family
law.
Stern, a well-known matrimo
nial law specialist, is a trustee and
board member of the Family
Section of the Atlanta Bar Asso
ciation. and has chaired various
committees of the Georgia Chap
ter of the Academy. He has lec
tured on divorce practice in con
tinuing legal education programs
and hs co-authored the Domestic
Relations, Annual Survey of
Georgia law for the past two
years for the Mercer Law Review.
He is a past president of the
George Stern
Atlanta Jewish Community Cen
ter and is chairing its long range
planning committee and is
chairman of the committee pur
chasing the new site for the Cen
ter in Cobb County.

has been promoted to brokerage
director of DeBorde and How
ard, a partner of the New Eng
land, a consortium of financial
and investment companies.
Baum, who has been with De
Borde and Howard one year,
previously as an agency supervi
sor, is responsible for the com
pany’s North Georgia district. In
his new position, Baum, 29, sells
and markets pensions, executive
compensation plans, financial
planning and employee benefits
to companies.
He is the son of Barbara and
Lutz Baum of Atlanta.

Tammy L. Bregman, DMD,
has become associated with Alan
S. Horlick, DDS at 3165 John
son Ferry Road, in the practice
of dentistry for adults and chil
dren.
Dr. Bregman graduated from
the Medical College of Georgia
School of Dentistry in 1985. Fol
lowing graduation she completed
a general practice residency at
the Eastman Dental Center in
Rochester, N.Y.
She is the daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. Larry Bregman of Atlanta.

Mitchell Kaye was recently
elected vice president of the
American Society of Appraisers—
Atlanta Chapter. He was also
designated as a chartered finan
cial analyst.
Prior to becoming self-em
ployed, Kaye worked in apprai
sal capacities for two of the larg
est appraisal firms in the industry.
The American Society of Ap
praisers has over 5,000 members.
Melanie Harrison-Zuck
Melanie Harrison-Zuck has
been named manager of The For
gotten Woman, a specialty bou
tique that recently opened in the
Atlanta Galleria. The 3,500 square
foot store is the 15th location in
the United States. Nancye Rad-
min, formerly of Cochran, Ga., is
the founder and owner.
The Forgotten Women features
designer clothing for the large-
size woman.
Paul R. Freeman recently
joined and has been named vice
president of Bock, Center, Garber,
Long, an Atlanta-based invest
ment banking firm which special
izes in middle market mergers
and acquisitions. Freeman will
share responsibility for the day-
to-day operations of the firm
with its president, Leonard Bock.
A 1971 honors-graduate of the
University of Georgia with a
major in accounting, Freeman
has spent the past 15 years ac
quiring, financing, managing and
selling a host of businesses.
Freeman and his wife, Viki,
have two children. A member of
Temple Sinai, he has been active
in numerous organizations in
cluding the Atlanta Jewish Fed
eration, the Epstein School and
the American Cancer Society.

tended the week-long corporate
annual meeting at Boston head
quarters. Fifteen representatives
from the United States and Can
ada met to report on visits made
to overnight camps; biking, hik
ing, wilderness and cross country
trips; and to educational and
sports programs. Founded in
1970, SCATA now represents
over 500 student programs
throughout the world.
Ms. Weiner and Ms. Schwartz

each individual.
