We have proposed as our objective + o
find means by which to meet the needs of
all the students through a ohrisbi m or
ganization which reflects no .cligloes
discrimination. We wish to call your at
tention to the methods by vhi'b Wo intend
to carry out this objective,.
We have again put into effect four
interest groups which have already held
their first meetings and made plans for
the year. For example, the Social Ue-
hponsibility Group plans to raito funds
for families involved in the Perry Hones
incident. The _group on Personal and
Campus Affairs V7 proneting helpful re
lationships between collages in the Uni
versity Center. It would be wonderful ,
they think, if' other .colleges could attend
our cultural activities without charge,
Members of the group on Christian Faith
and Heritage are engagirg in some detailed
study of the dominant religious groups in
an effort to better understand and appre
ciate their own beliefs. Finally, the
group on Foreign Affairs i c interested in
securing foreign pen pals, and holding
seminars with students who have studied
abroad.
Recently, our campus has been the
scene of conferences of' the Southern Re
gional YF.-YWCA Council for planning their
program for the year. Here, we wish to
pause and congratulate Helen Kerr, who
elected chairman of that council.

A TRIBUTE TO OUR DEAN
The Spotlight Staff would like to
unite in paying a tribute to Dean Irene
Asbury, She has brought a spirit of un
derstanding and progress to our campus.
Because of this^personal relationships
have improved one hundred per-cent, and
morals among the students have shown an
equal increase.
