Laughter.] But tho dilemma in whloh
hoy aro plncod is this; if tho term an-

i Kings that cannot ho lost sight of. Bo-

ho may not have to praotico it, though
ho may bo able to hire her cook, yet
ho should understand it licrsolf, for it
may happen sorao day that the cook

. What a predicament sho would bo in

was that tho Sisters should arrango it
0 that all tho girls over thirteen years

IIoops.—A Paris correspondent writes:
—IIoops have fairly gone out of fashion,
nnd tlio fair boauties of Paris, whoso ex
tensions have taken so much spaco on
tho sidewalks for tho space of threo
years, have reduced themselves to some
thing like natural proportions, much to
tlio gratification of riders in omnibuses,
habitues of the opera, and pedestrians
in the, narrow streets who now have some
chance of seating themselves without
being hidden behind, or buried beneath
a huge balloon, and oi walking, without
being obliged to tako tho street and give
up the sidewalk to tho wide jupons. It
is to bo hoped, now, that the ladies will
not rush into tho other extreme, and
that whereas they formerly resembled
an' umbrella spread open, thoy will
not now endeavor to ooniorm themselves
