EVE, Abolition Emissaries. Tho dovolopmonts which nro con stantly coming to light loavo no room for doubt that abolition emissaries aro scattered throughout tho Southern States, tampering with our nogroes and instigating them to acts of thoft, incen diarism, and murder. In our last wo published an account of a band culliug themselves Gipsiesin Wilcox Co..Ala., hurrying a coflln, con taining arms and amunition. Lately a trunk was receiv ed at West Point, Miss., from Mobile Ala., and on being opened was found to contain abolition documents. The merchant in tho latter placo from ,vhom Iho trunk was purobascd, opened itbers in bis store and discovered sev eral copies of the same in them. These trunks had never been opened since wero purchased of a Northern house. In Mompbis, Toun., a few days ago, a number of anti-slavery publications wero found seatterod in the streets; and the Appeal says there are soveral Abolition ists in that city who have boon enticing tho negroes from their masters, The same paper gives an account of the ar rest of some of tho fugitives in the wood: and tho discovery in a hollow tree, of a quart bottle'or prtlson, which tho ne groes admitted had been given to them by a white man who endeavored to in duce them to use it in killing tho whites. Wr do not relate theso facts to crcat alarm, for there is no cause for.it nmr; but there will hr unless wo take tho nec essary precautions which prudence and discretion suggest. Our object is to in cite our citizens to tho strictest vigilance, for wo cannot resist the conclusion that there is an organized hand at work, pre paring to carry out tlioir villainous schemes. The indications are that they havo been in onr midst, may ho here now, and certainly will he again. Recently symptoms of a negro insur rection wero discovered near Talladega, Ala., and three or four suspicious whito •non and several negroes wero found completely armed. Some of tho whito scoundrels were arrested together with a number of negroes.
