presented to tho Convention by Rov. B.
Manly, D. D., and seconded by ltov. W.
V. Chilton. Tho Southern Baptist says:
“After tho (Minor was road a few re*
marks were made, nml prayer was offer
ed, all arose from their knees and vot
ed unanimously, members of tho Con
vention, tho Congregation, women as
well as men. Northern fanatics will
see ere long whether tho South will
live in a Union undor Black Republican
rule.”

the sovereignty and independence of
the State of Alabama, and of her right,
as a sovereignty, to withdraiv from this
Union; and to make any arrangement
which her people, In constitutional as
semblies, may deem best for securing
