These issues, after long years of agi

concur that their settlement must ho
had, be demanded, and in terms neither
to be misconstrued or misapprehended,
'lie hour of settlement has come, the
day of reckoning is nt hand, und none
desire none are willing that it shall pass
without settlement, is finally nnd defi
nitely lind, if justly nnd rigidly ui|juht-
ted, to bo adhered to in good fuith ; if
otherwise, that it shall oe distinctly

patriot is willing—will l»o- content 'With
any indefinite postponement. Tho peo
ple of all the slave .States are aroused
and prepared with one voice and olio
heart no longer to remonstrate, but em

And, in the opinion of this. Legisla
