Only since tlio commencement of this
war, but evor on this continent. Now
when it is noted that our two brigades
lost only thirty or forty killed, and less
than two hundred wounded—which
numbers have several times been ex
ceeded by single regiments of infantry
in an engagement—ono grand differ
ence between tho two, branches of
services will then bo 'readily apprecia

.It is generally considered disgraceful,
that our cavalry should suffer itself to
"be so completely surprised, as it was on
this occasion, but they are said, in tho
wain, to have noted remarkably well
after recoveringfrtfm the panic incident
to this.
There is no camp news of particular
interest. Our bivouac is about 2 miles
, South of the Court House, in a pleasant
grove, Witl-i a tolerable supply of good

It may be interesting to the old- “sta

Boneering documents are circulated
very freely among the Georgia troops.
Tills has evidently been done systemat
ically, for every company, so far as I
•'have been ablo to learn, gets its exact
quota.' ’ There was an effort: at ii meet
ing ot the brigade, to pass resolutions
endorsing his administration, and re
commending his re-election, luttr they
failed to pass.
.Aj)ost e£ the soldiers are ament sup
porters of our national administration,
and will consequently opposo its oppo
