This crop can be made exceedingly prof
itable, and it is less uncertain than almost
any other. One hundred eallons of syrup,
is only a fair yield for good laud. Every
gallon of syrup will make .six . pounds of
siigir, and there still rompin' about" two
quarts of syrup Thus from an acre of
ground you get 600 pounds of sugar, worth
"say ninety dollars, aud fifty gallons of syr
up, worth say thirty dollars. What”
