Infirmary for the Blind.
Dr. W. A. Hooten has removed his Infirmary
for the Blind, from Cotton Hill, Georgia, to At

ly lie is now prepared to treat diseases of the
eyo successfully, and will’give his personal at
tention to all cases presented. He relieves rl-
m«st all curable cases without tbe use of tbe
knife. He was blind three yean himself, and,
after having exhausted, as he thought, the skill
of the profession, oothhorth and South, came in
to possesion of a system of treatment with which
he was soon vestored to sight. Dr. Huoten has
keen a practicing physician eighteen years. He
was a graduated physician and successful prac
titioner before he became blind. T<> the knowl
edge which he acquired from the most eminent
physicians, surgeons and occulist-, North and
8outh, while under treatment, he has added tbe
mature experience of twelve years* successful
practice on the eye, aided by the valuable eon
tri utions of a judiciously selected library on
diseases of the eye. Combining this knowl
edge and skill, he uses the same system of treat
ment with which he was cured. He has per
fectly and permanently restored a great many
persons irora total blindness. He knows of no
other occulistin-the United States, who uses the
aamesystem. 4 He also treats chronic rases in all
forms. Terms for treatment cash.
To remove from the minds of the most scru
pulous any prejudices that mar arise, he re
tors' the public to the following first class names,
giving the postoffice address of each, and pro-
noses that for proof that any of the certificates
herein published by him are not genuine, or
that these cures were not effec. ed by him as here
in stated, to pay to the order of the individual
producing said proof. Five thousand dollars.

Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral,
For Diseases of the Throat and Longs*
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
Probably never before in the whole history ot
medicine, nas anything won so widely and so deeply
upon the confidence of mankind, as this excellent
remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through a long
series 'of years, and among most of the races or
men it has risen higher and higher in their estima
tion, as it has become better known. Its‘uniform
character and power to cure the various affections
of the lungs and throat, have made it known as a ny
liable protector against them. While adapted to
milder forms of disease and to young children, it is
at the same time the most effectual remedy that can
be given for incipient consumption, and the dan
gerous affections of the throat and lungs. As a pro
vision against suddeu attacks of Croup/it should
bo kept on hand in every family, and indeed as al;
are sometimes subject to colds and coughs,' si
should be provided with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still great numbers of cases where the dis
ease seemed settled, have been completely cured,
and the patient restored to sound health by the
Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its mastery
ever the disorders of tho Lungs and Throat, that
the most obstinate of them yield to it. When noth
ing else could reach them, under tho Cherry Pee-
total they subside and disappear. - ‘
Singers and Public Spcaicers find great pro
tection from It. ■.
Asthma H always relieved and often wholly
cured by it.
Bronchitis is generally cured by taking , the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses.
So generally are its virtues known that we deed-
not publish the certificates of them here, of do rnpre
than assuro the public that its qualities pro fully
maintained,
