look "some unintcntaoMlly, if the citizens
generally do not takeBOme interest to aid
the committee by informing them of the
whereabouts of the children. There are
some children the committee would
pleased to furnish with tickets, and them
to attend the concert and participate
the reception of presents, but feel a deli
cacy in doing so for fear the parents
would take some exceptions. We shall
to do all for the best, however.

A Manual of Health.
An edition of between nine and ton millions
of copies of a very useful work is now n
gratuitous distribution, and can bn bad for the
asking at any drug store in the Uni tod 8 tales,
the British Colonies, Spanish America or Brasil.
The work referred to is Hostetler’s
1874. The medical portion of it treats of the
Yirious ailments to which tho human system
subject, and sets forth the peculiar properties
Hostetler’s Stomach Bitters—the purest and best
tonic at present known—as a preservative
health and strength, and a remedy for debility
and disease. The Almanac is printed in all the
principal languages of the civilized world, and
reaches a larger number of families and indi
viduals than any other medical treatise that
issued from the press. No man or woman
who has dne regard for that choicest of.heaven’
blessings, bodily viger, should fail te rcadjthe
plain, simple and convincing; articles which
this trnly practical publication contains. The
miscellaneous matter is varied, instructive and
amusing, and the calendar department copious
and comprehensive. Hostetter’s Almanac is, in
short, a household convenience, adapted to the
use of all classes and callings. The farmer, the
planter, the miner, the merchant, the mechanic,
the laborer, the professional man, all need it
and to invalids of both sexes it is litorally an
article of prime necessity. The medical tech
nicalities which now rendor so many medical
tro&tises intended for popular uae unintelligible
to tho general reader, have been carefully avoid
ed in this pamphlet. All is clear, explicit,
forcible, and reconcilable with science and
common sense.
The publishers, Messrs. HostclUr & Smith,
Pittsburgh, Pa., will on receipt of a two cent
stamp, send the Almanac by mail to any address.
Fersocs should not only procure it for them
selves, but direct it to be sent to their friends
and neighbors, as a favor and valuable service
to them. delsjanl
