II the young and innocent may be

'by the mild radiance of Gospel Truths!” 1
The Beauties of Christianity appeared in the I
| course of a few letters published some years |
since, in one of our most popul|V papers, edi
ted by a man of science—they' will now re
ceive considerable addition by the original se
lector from authors of immense value , and
. place the Gospel in so plain a point of view,
| that every reader may he induced to pul on
the “ easy yoke” of Crfßisr, and they will
■find the “burden light”*-and that rest to
I their immortal souls, which no other profits-i
sion can bestow !
In the course of the work will be inserted
the celebrated letteisfrorn Bishop Burnet on
the conversion of Lord Rochester, and that
to guard against the abuse of ardent spirits—
this letter was re published in several of the
northern states.
The selector was encouraged in the origtial
publication, by the following eulogium of
Dr Johnson—that “ Those persons merited
the thanks of the rising genetation, who con
tracted the experienced rules of morality and
religion into so comprehensive a point of
view, that they might recur habitually to the
memory, rather than those who have encum
bered the world with lengthy productions of
originality.”
A catalogue of essential and cheap books
necessary for the improvemnt of souls in their
journey to immortality will be inserted—As
the Selector willingly presents his Labours of
Love, the price of the Pamphlet will be only
fifty cents —lt will be put to press so soon
as a sufficient number is subscribed for. Se
lected by T. SANDWICH,
An experienced Teacher who has perused
