quent inconveniences for the want of Changb,
have as a remedy therefor, issued a few Due
Jhlte from 6‘ to 50 Cents each. For the
redemption of which they have deposited with
Messrs Leigh ist Scurry (at the end of the
Bridge) a sufficient sum in current BANK
NOTES, where the due bills will be paid,
whenever the amount presented, shail be one

AN ORDINANCE, ~
For tbs emission of small rills, for
change. Whereas the Citizens of Au
gusta, are at present much in want
of a Circulating Medium , which shall
compose the sixteenth of a Dollar.
Be it therefore . Ordained oy the City Coun
cil of Angu.ta, That there shall be prin
ted and signed by the Intendant, and some
Member of the Council, Notes to the amount
oi 1 wo 1 hottsand Dollars, viz. of the denom
ination of six and one fourth cent, thirty-two
hundred, ol the denomination of twelve and a
half cents, twenty-four hundred, ofthe denom
ination of twenty-five cents, two thousand, and
of the denomination of fifty cents, two thou
sand.
And be it further Ordained, That the said
Notes when signed and properly checked,
shall be deposited in the Treasury of the city,
and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
required upon the application of any person, to
deliver said person notes to such an amount as
maybe called for, not less than Five Dollars,
and to receive payment therefor in ape ie ; or
any ofthe Bank Notes which may be current
in Augusta, at the time.
And be it further Ordained, That upon the
application of any person, at any time, who [
may hold the said Notes to the amount of Five !
Dollars, the Treasurer shall be bound tore- i
ceive the same, anti to pay therefor specie or j
1 Bank Notes of any Bank which may be cut
rent In Augusta, at that tirm-.
And be it further Ordained, Thru a suffi- I
cientsum to redeem said Notes, shall at all
times be kept in the ■‘reasury for that pur- '

Caution to Trespassers.
HAVING understood that severnl persons
have been in the habit m trespassing
upon the Lands belonging to the caute of the
late Gen. Thomas Glascock, by cutting down
the timber, taking away Lighiwood Posts,
Firewood, See. and that these illegal practices
are still continued, particularly on the Rocky
| Cieek Tract, in this county—The Subscriber
; therefore before taking any other measures,
i feels it his duty to giv public notice that if
any person whatever (expect those privileged
to cut lumber at the Mills, agreeably to the X
terms of renting) shall herealier cut down tim
ber or take away posts or wood, or commit
other trespasses on any of the Lands belong
ing to said estate, such legal steps will be t»-
Ken, as to suoject the offender or offenders to
the pains and penalties, which the law in such
! cases inflicts.
Ten Dollars reward will be given for such
